New Zealand Travel Guide
New Zealand has been rightfully called the paradise of the Pacific. Home to the world famous Maori culture and many species of unique flightless birds, New Zealand is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Pacific. Tourism in New Zealand is highlighted by stunning harbors and inlets, colonial attractions, alpine summits, and local culture. Although New Zealand travel is often overlooked by its bigger and more popular neighbour Australia, the land of the Kiwis is no less.
History of New Zealand
The history of New Zealand is as old as 700 years. It was during those years when New Zealand was discovered. The Polynesians were the first people to settle here. It was the Polynesians who developed the M?ori culture in relation with this land. The Dutch navigator Abel Tasman was the first European explorer who came here on 13 December 1642. Captain James Cook reached here in the year 1769 during one of his three voyages. Post the 18th century, the country has been visited by many explorers, sailors, traders and adventurers. Throughout the eighteenth century, the British resided her extensively. Post the wars in New Zealand, most of the area of New Zealand was handed to P?keh? (European) which gradually grew better. It will always be a delight to visit this wonderful country.
Famous Food in New Zealand
Start with the traditional Maori Hangi which is meat and veggies slow cooked in an underground oven and another Maori favourite Kumara which is a variety of sweet potato. Seafood is obviously very popular, especially the Kiwi favourite Crayfish, paua – sea snails and Kina – a sea urchin.
Major Festivals in New Zealand
One of the main cultural festivals of New Zealand is the Pasifika festival, which is a celebration of the native Polynesian culture of the country. 11 villages come together to celebrate this. Auckland Lantern Festival and Chinese New Year are quite big as well. Other than that, there are multiple food and wine festivals, music fests and religious celebrations. The holiday season around Christmas here is quite a charming one.
Romantic destinations in New Zealand
A New Zealand vacation can quite easily be a great romantic getaway. While the cities of New Zealand are definitely perfect for sightseeing and night-time excitement, there are many hidden gems of natural bounty in New Zealand, which any couple should seek out for on a trip. Only one small ferry ride away from Auckland is the mesmerizing Waiheke Island with pristine beaches and sprawling vineyards. Another great seaside destination is the Coromandel Peninsula. Do consider the hot spring geysers of Rotorua, hiking trails, and cruising trips of Marlborough and serene beauty of Milford Sound when you visit New Zealand.
Beach destinations of New Zealand
Being an island country, New Zealand is home to many gorgeous beaches all around the country, in both the islands. Cathedral Cove, Ninety Mile Beach, and Mission Bay Beach are certainly some of the best. Medlands Beach and Awaroa Inlet in the Abel-Tasman Coastal Track are not to be missed either. One can discover New Zealand in a completely different light in these tranquil beaches.
Here are some of the other best New Zealand cities to visit.
The capital of New Zealand is also one of the best cities of the country, with a lovely urban fabric, waterfront promenade, sandy beaches, and lots of wind whistling around all day long. Located near the North Island’s southernmost point, Cook Strait, Wellington is quite laid back a town, despite being the capital city.
Auckland is hands down the most dazzling city of New Zealand. It has the highest population, most number of urban attractions, and travelling here is quite expensive as well. Despite that, Auckland draws an extensive crowd every year to its sprawling streets. From the iconic Sky Tower right down to the Mission Bay Beach seaside promenade, Auckland is quite a treat to explore.
Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. This city upholds the English heritage of New Zealand history explicitly, thanks to the many vintage stone building that dots the city streets. The city is centred on the Avon River where there are many narrow, flat-bottomed punts gliding through for a tour.
Queenstown alone ticks all the boxes for a New Zealand tour. On one hand, it displays an authentic Kiwi culture in every part of the city, while on the other hand there are more than enough outdoor activities to indulge in, ranging from easy to extreme. There is also the dramatic beauty of Lake Wakatipu, set against the Southern Alps.
Hamilton is not the most popular name on any New Zealand tour itinerary, but it is an essential one if you want to know as much as you can about the vibrant indigenous Maori culture and other cultural events of the history. Located in the Waikato region of North Island, Hamilton’s map is dotted with museums, galleries and theme parks, as well as restaurants, bars and cafes.
Heli-skiing in New Zealand - heli-skiing is the art of skiing downhill and off-trail by a helicopter instead of a ski lift. In earlier times, remote terrains of Alaska and Europe were reached by helicopter. In a few years, it was converted into a commercialized activity. Adventure-lovers can reach the top of a terrain in New Zealand by a helicopter and then start skiing.
Jump off the Sky Tower - to try the electrifying bungee jumping in New Zealand, reach at the top of Nevis or Kawarau and jump off the highest point. If you wish to try an off-beat bungy experience, head to Taupo Bungy on the Waikato River. Feel your heartbeat racing as you jump from the top of a tower or cliff. Safety instructions must be followed carefully.
Ride the rapids - New Zealand offers a host of options to try river rafting at - from the highest rafted waterfall in the world(commercially) in Rotorua to a gentle river in Queenstown. Depending upon your experience and preference, you may choose any of the popular rafting spots in the country. Feel your heart pumping as you row against the high tides splashing over.
New Zealand tour can be real fun if you do not miss our any of these activities or places to visit. It is a charmingly beautiful country that entices every visitor. Plan a smart itinerary to cover most of the best things in New Zealand. Whether you are travelling with friends or family, you can always have a good time in New Zealand. Be it shopping or adventure or sightseeing, New Zealand will provide you all.

Trip to North EastWhat went well 1) the car was brand new and very comfortable. The driver was experienced in navigating difficult roads and knew the terrain well 2) Both Arunachal and Assam were beautiful places with great weather and exciting topography What could have been improved 1) The trip was jam packed with lots of 5-6 hours a day trip and one night stays in hotels. In my view, a slightly different itenary where we could removed places like Tezpur and Bomdila and included longer stays in Nameri and Dirang would have made the journey more comfortable 2) Quality of hotels varied widely. Ariyaan Athithya in Guwahati, Awoo resort in Dirang and Eco park in Nameri were great. Royal Regency in Tezpur was atrocious quality. We stayed the longest in Tawang but Tayatha was ill equipped - too small room, no hot water in the bathroom, sub standard service and bad quality food. Unfortunately, the best hotels were in Dirang and Nameri but we stayed only 1 night 3) The driver was cutting corners with regards to sight seeing and seemed more interested in reaching the place and retiring early
Trip to KeralaHouse boat is basic just basic even the honeymoon inclusions just sucks. Candle light dinner means they just keep one deepa with oil in middle of a room. Cake means they have got a plum cake from a normal bakery without a name or mention on it. So house boat is just an average experience but remaining hotels are good in ambience. Food is not so great in spice jungle it is just average. Should also mention about the driver assigned to us. He doesn't know itenarary, he doesn't know who will pay for him. This shows a bad co co ordination between driver, his representative and our holiday agent. I pushed him alot to make him drive to the places that are there in the plan. Overall it's just an average experience with travel triangle. Not so great. Could be definitely a better one if they handled it in a better manner. Munnar is the best. Elephant camp in thekkady is also a memorable one. Jungle cruise is just time waste. Houseboat is new but not a great experience
Trip to HimachalNot too happy with the booking First the good parts: 1. Well-arranged trips, ample time to go around for seeing different places 2. Good hotels in Shimla, Manali, and Dalhousie. The views were amazing from all these hotels, and so were the rooms and the service. Special mention about the hotel in Dalhousie, beautiful place, amazing views and awesome food. The parents were very happy. 3. The driver was quite well mannered and had equally good driving skills Not so good and improvement areas: 1. The driver had very bad navigational skills, was uncooperative, especially when it came to asking for directions in a new place. It was strange as you would expect to get someone who will have good knowledge about the place where he goes almost regularly 2. This trip was customized which is why a lot of responsibility rested with the driver who was either unhelpful when it came to assisting or suggesting something to do, or was unaware of most of the things 3. The hotel in Chandigarh was unhygienic, one of the rooms had cockroaches roaming around, another had bedbugs and the third room was damp and smelled as if it always remains shut. My father had to stay up the entire night because of bed-bug bites 4. The hotel in Dharamshala was again old, dirty and unhygienic too. They tried to pass-off the water from the dish-cleaning area as drinking water. Rooms were shabby, blankets were worn out and dirty, furnishings were very old and shabbily kept. Not something you expect from an apparent 3 star hotel
Trip to DelhiIt was pleasant & comfortable trip and economical. Package of Agra,Jaipur & Delhi. Good hotels are provided. At Delhi initially hotel was not good, when we complained abt the same, we were promptly shifted to another hotel. Good service & support provided from Devanshi Sharma of Travel Triangle and Mr.Ajay of Back2Holidays. Certainly we will plan our future trips also with them.
Trip to Sri LankaNew Delhi (Delhi), India 227 The best ! Review of Pearly Gates Lanka Reviewed 2 days ago When I booked the tour through Pearly gates I was expecting good service, but ended up being totally overwhelmed by the experience I had with this company. I first contacted Nimni over phone and was happy at her prompt answers and friendly tone.I booked with her soley on the basis of what I could guage of her over conversations on phone.( Travel Triangle was the aggregator) She had promised me a good guide cum driver and a big van for the three of us (my husband, son and I ). Rikfy picked us up from my hotel first ( I was atteding an international conference) and then my family from the airport and the next seven days we spent in Paradise ! He was a careful driver, a wonderful guide and a true friend. Attentive at all times, smiling advising, he made our tour truly special. Behind all this was Nimni - calling us to find if everything was ok. They had booked good hotels, the travel by van was very comfortable but most important - the personal touch at every moment by Rikfy made everything special. On the last evening we ordered dinner at the restaurant in Hotel Ocean Colombo but when the food didnt come even after almost an hour we were very upset. We called Rikfy and though it was after 10.30 pm he came and took us to an Arabian restaurant. As some of us are diabetic this was a life saver !.I recommend Pearly gates to everybody if you want true service with a smile, and Nimni and Rikfy really make you feel at home in Sri Lanka !
Trip to DubaiI had planned for a 12 day trip to Dubai. Prior to this experience I had normaly been weary of using travel agents because my overall feedback from fellow commuters was that post payment of the trip cost generally these people became indifferent to your concerns/issues. However, I can vocuh that experience with TravelTriangle was just on the opposite side. As is always the case, in a trip of 12 days specifically when you are travelling with family with 2 kids there would be iterations and new requirements. TravelTrinagle was exteremely accomodative to all the requests put forth from our side. Special thanks to Amit and Prateek who would even at odd hours pick up my call and attend to the requests. On the planning side, the entire trip was so well organised that we were able to enjoy all the amusement parks and other activities to the fullest without having to rush through things. To conclude TravelTriangle did not only deliver what I was expecting from them but way beyond. I am sure with the focus on customer satisaction that they bring on table it would be an agency to reckon with. Highly recommend to use their services for anyone wishing to have a comfortable and leisurely trip.
Trip to HimachalSome of the hotels are good but locations are not easily accessible particularly when there are aged tourists with you. As for New Delhi hotels, please check with the hotel authorities whether they really meet star standards. For example, Good Luck hotel at Delhi does not fulfil the standards of a three star hotel. They don't even have plates to serve the food. Manali Hotel was the best. Hotel at Shimla was very co-operative and extended all possible assistance. On the way back, New Delhi hotel was very good. In all the hotels, except Good Luck, the staff members were very helpful.
Trip to DelhiIt's awesome experience with Amazing India Tours. We have completed the tour with some wonderful memories. Our driver was so nice & gentleman. Ritesh was also so co-operative. Thanks Travel Triangle, Thanks Amazing India Tours.

The team ( Mr Manoj, Mr Manpreet and Mr Rajesh were well organised and had a good experience with their service , very polite , punctual and understand your requirements and made changes accordingly. They arranged guide for site seeing in agara , mathura n vrindavan. Mr vivek did a very good job . Overall enjoyed my vacation and will definitely plan one more very soon The best was Wagah Border event and the Taj Mahal Beautiful picture clicked by the guide.
Trip to MaldivesThings are very exiting. We enjoyed a lot , its a whole new experience. Awesome place for vacation, different cuisine to try. The only difficulty we had was during the time of Resort checkin at the Airport. The Speed boat transfer person denied to board the boat as the payment was not received by the Resort. I had to contact the travel agent multiple times and after few hours the confirmation was made and then we started our journey.
