‘Goa is a place so full of energy and good vibes that it can be visited again and again without losing its charm’.
Being a beach lover, a trip to Goa was always in the bucket list. As soon as I got an opportunity to visit the beach capital, I welcomed it with open arms. My break for 6 days was a reason big enough for both me and my wife to cover Goa as the timing also seemed perfect for it. Thereafter,we started searching for decent Goa packages and came across TravelTriangle’s Goa tour package on Facebook. The best part was that they offered us a customized package so we could decide on the locations as per our convenience.

Day 1: Bonjour Goa!
We boarded our flight from Pune and reached Goa on time. Our hotel was in Baga beach in North Goa and it took us nearly an hour and a half to reach there. The drive from the Dabolim airport to our hotel was great and we enjoyed the view of the hills running along the coast line and the Mandovi River, while sipping on the coconut water.
After reaching the hotel, we freshened up and rested for sometime. The whole day was at our disposal, so we basically chilled in the hotel, exploring the property and went out for shopping in the nearby markets. There, we bought some clothes and accessories. After shopping, we had dinner and slept off early to enjoy what was in store for us the next day.
Visitors to Goa must carry SPF creams, light clothes, swimwear and floaters.
Day 2: Dolphins and clear waters await!
Day 2 was reserved for the South Goa tour. After a sumptuous breakfast, we left around 9:30 am to explore the beautiful city. We first went for Dolphin sightseeing via boat ride and it turned out to be a lot of fun. We spotted some dolphins which really made our day.
Post that, it was time to visit some temples. We covered the Shri Shantadurga Temple at Kavlem, dedicated to goddess Laxmi, and Shri Manguesh Temple at Priol, dedicated to Lord Shiva and they were beautiful. This was followed by a tour to church Basilica of Bom Jesus, a beautiful church with unmatched interiors and the Dona Paula beach. The beach is beautiful and not very crowded.
Post sightseeing, it was time for boat cruise at Mandovi river. We really enjoyed the cruise as it offered us some serene views of glittering lights over the calming waters of the river. We enjoyed there for sometime and returned back to our hotel for the night.
Day 3: Time for some well deserved sea therapy
It was time for some beach fun. We covered some amazing beaches this day- Vagator, Anjuna, Calangute. Out of all the beaches, we enjoyed our time in Vagator the most as it was least crowded and the most serene. We also visited the snow park at Baga beach, a fun place in which they have created artificial snow rides such as snow slides and snow photo booths. One can spend an hour or two here and enjoy the fun activities.
It is better to find out about the duration of sports activities at various Goa beaches in advance as travel agents quote different timings for the same sport.
Day 4: Snorkeling fun

Snorkeling was the highlight of our 5 day/4 night trip to Goa. Our boat, which would take us to the starting point, was parked at Nerul river. Our boatman, Mr. Ashok was the best; He took good care of us and guided the boat really well.
The snorkeling experience was overall very good and post that we went for lunch which was organised at the Monkey beach, near Vasco De Gama. The snacks and drinks were delicious and curbed our hunger since we were starving after our snorkeling activity. Post that, we came to our hotel and retired for the day.
Day 5: More beaches and adventures
This was our last day in Goa wan we wanted to make the most of it. We had an early breakfast and hired a scooty to do some sightseeing. We went to Vagator beach and did adventure activities which included parasailing, jet ski etc. Parasailing was the best although duration was really less. One can really enjoy the water sports in Goa if they are of longer duration.
Post vagator beach, we visited the Morjim beach. Although, it is really close to Vagator beach and can be easily seen from the beach, it took us 30-35 minutes by road. The seafood at the shacks here is a must try. There is a wide range of cocktails available and the crowd of this beach is good too. The beach is considerably cleaner and the shallow water of the sea is unique experience. One can comfortably stand in the water, at a good 30 meters into the sea from the shoreline, without any hassle.
After that, it was time to head off to the airport. We bid adieu to Goa and boarded our flight back to Pune on time.
Overall, I would say that this trip was fantastic and gave me and my wife a great chance to explore gorgeous places together. I loved exploring Goa and I wish to go there again. The people, the food, the Portuguese setup , will be missed dearly and hopefully we will be taking another trip soon to this wonderful place.
- The Dolphin spotting is a wonderful experience, highly recommend it
- The boat journey from Nerul Island to Bat island is a very serene experience
- It was election time in Goa ,so the bars and pubs would close by 10 pm, which was a bummer
- We were not able to cover Arambol and Palolem beach, which are supposedly very good beaches
Tips for future travelers:
- One does not need to book the sports activities in advance. One can easily bargain with the local sports agencies in the beaches and get a good deal.
- Do cover the less crowded beaches such as Vagator, Dona Paula for a peaceful time
- Carry sunscreen everywhere or you will get tanned easily
- Avoid carrying valuables in beaches
Even you can book a similar Goa tour package and have the time of your life! So, what are you waiting for?
