Best Time To Visit Vietnam

The weather in Vietnam is influenced by changes in the tropical and temperate zones. South Vietnam is an year-round destination as not much of the changes are noticeable here while North Vietnam witnesses drastic changes in weather throughout the year. Months December to January and from March to May witnesses the huge influx of tourists in Vietnam. March to May is the time when Vietnam is in full bloom both beauty and accommodation prices wise. During the months of December and January, Vietnam witnesses the least rainfall. Let’s see the geography wise climatic conditions in Vietnam:

North Vietnam

If you are planning a visit to Northern parts of Vietnam the best time to visit the country would be from March to May and from September to November. Spring season begins with the onset of March in north Vietnam and there are blossoms throughout. Avoid visiting north Vietnam from June to October when humid levels are generally high with excessive rainfall. September to November is another ideal time to visit the northern parts of Vietnam when the weather is a perfect blend of coolness and warmness.

Central Vietnam

For that perfect sunny beach weather, the tropical months from January to June are ideal for visiting central parts of Vietnam. After June, the weather in Central Vietnam becomes unpredictable with frequent rains. The months from November through January witnesses cold winds in Central Vietnam. Hoi An, Nha Trang, Hue Dalat etc are some of the best places to visit in this part of Vietnam.

South Vietnam

December to April is considered an ideal time to visit the southern areas of Vietnam. During these months, all the activities like beach activities, sightseeing etc. The major tourist influx begins in the month of January when they even come to enjoy the New Year eve festivities. After April, south Vietnam starts to witness rainfall, so it is advised to visit it from May to November. Ho Chi Minh, Ho Tran, Mekong Delta are some major places of South Vietnam which tourists like to explore.

How To Reach Vietnam?

The best way to get to Vietnam from India is by taking a flight. The aerial distance between Delhi and Vietnam is approx. 3000 km while from Mumbai it is 3330 km. It takes around 5 to 10 hours to reach Vietnam from India depending on the number of halt airports and duration. Most of the flights to Vietnam are indirect and you will have to take a halt at Singapore, Bangkok etc depending on the airline you choose to travel with. Let’s see the various methods to reach Vietnam from India:

By Flight

The most flexible and convenient way of reaching Vietnam from India is by flight. It takes around 5 to 10 hours depending on the halt stations. There are 3 major international airports in the country which are Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang International Airport (DAD) located inDa Nang. Vietjet Air, Hahn Air, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, GoAir, AirIndia etc are the major airlines on India to Vietnam route.

By Train

There is no train to reach Vietnam from India. It would be very inconvenient to travel to Vietnam from India due to the large distance, therefore no rail tracks have been constructed on this route. Also, the trains are quite slow in Vietnam, so traveling even within Vietnam by train is not a feasible option.

By Road

Traveling to Vietnam from India by road is not a convenient method. The total distance between these two countries is 5313 km approx. and it takes around 105 hours which is a lot of time. Firstly you will have to travel to Cambodia from India and then cross the border between Cambodia and Vietnam. The entire journey is hectic and very time consuming.

We traveled as a group of 3 to Vietnam for 8 days and 7 nights. The trip exceeded our expectations and the quality of hotels, food and transit vehicles pleasantly surprised us. Furthermore, Michael was available to help us out 24*7, cleared all our queries, and helped with adjustments. Overall, thanks to S Vietnam trips and Michael for arranging this unforgettable trip for us.

All things were good, but they could have suggested for one day stay at Bana Hill and some show was there but it was not on particular day on which we went. Secondly, Ninh Binh is not worth going, so they could have suggested that. All in all, the trip was good. Jenny, our trip advisor was exceptional in everything.

Huyen Le was an excellent travel agent who customised the tour according to my necessity, her choice of cruise and other suggestions she made were very good. She timely checked on flight arrival and departure and ensured everything was on time (though the whole city was impacted by typhoon yagi). She recommend to go with Signature Cruise rather than other big cruises available in the market which was so right, Signature Cruise gave a royal treatment. She was kind enough to arrange for early check-in and late check-out. She was one stop shop for everything i wanted and made my solo trip to Vietnam a memorable one. I highly recommend Huyen Le from Hanna Travels. Last but not least she also visited me adding a whole personal touch in a foreign country, Thank you. Signature Cruise

Vaani's 8 days trip to Vietnam

Overall, we had a wonderful experience during our Vietnam tour, thanks to the efforts of your team. We truly appreciated how you listened to all our requests, no matter how small. A special mention to Emily, whose patience and dedication in fitting everything we wanted into the itinerary did not go unnoticed.   We particularly enjoyed the company of the guides during our journey. Although there were some language barriers, they made up for it with their consideration, especially Mi Lô, who was incredibly kind and thoughtful, given that we were traveling with a child. Hong was also fantastic, sharing a wealth of information that enriched our experience. Our parents were especially pleased with the arrangement of Indian food, which was a lovely touch, though we enjoyed the local cuisine as well.   However, we did face a few hiccups during our trip that we believe could have been handled better:   Hotel Arrangement in Danang: We stayed for three nights in Danang and found the sleeping arrangements challenging, as the queen-sized bed was too small for three people. While we managed, we felt that an option for a twin room could have been explored to avoid this discomfort.   Danang to Hue Journey: We were surprised when the driver took a different route from Danang to Hue instead of the scenic Hai Van Pass. As tourists, we expected the scenic route to be the default option rather than the regular one. Although we appreciate that your team promptly arranged the scenic route, it came with a surcharge.   Hanoi Airport to Hotel Transfer: Upon reaching Hanoi airport on the night of the 23rd, we were informed that the car couldn’t take us directly to the hotel entrance due to the weekend night market. This put us in a difficult spot as it was raining, and managing all the luggage with a child would have been a real hassle. Fortunately, there was no night market that night, but prior information could have allowed us to plan better, possibly choosing a different hotel location.   Despite these issues, we had a great time in Vietnam, thanks to your team’s efforts. We hope our feedback helps in improving future experiences for other travelers.   Thank you once again for all your hard work. We truly enjoyed our time in Danang, where the city’s vibrant atmosphere and serene beachside ambiance created a refreshing escape. My An Beach, with its pristine sands, clear waters, and gentle waves, was the perfect place to relax and take in Vietnam’s stunning coastline. Our visit to Hoi An was equally enchanting. The lantern-lit streets, vibrant colors, and the gentle glow of lamps reflecting on the water made the city feel like a scene from a fairy tale. The rich cultural vibe of Hoi An created an unforgettable experience. The visit to Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave was absolutely awe-inspiring. The magnificent natural formations—stalactites and stalagmites that looked like intricate sculptures, formed over millions of years—were unlike anything we had ever seen. These caves felt like a hidden world, full of mystery and wonder. Although we were initially hesitant to visit with elderly parents and a young child, we are so glad we did. Exploring these breathtaking caves together created cherished memories. These moments—the tranquil beaches of Danang, the magical atmosphere of Hoi An, and the breathtaking beauty of the caves—made our trip to Vietnam truly special and unforgettable.
