Also known as Lions Rock, the top of this place literally offers a breathtaking view and we were all in awe of it until we were there. Since this place is one of the most famous places to visit in Sri Lanka, it was obvious that it would be crowded. But to our surprise, it didn’t affect our romantically adventurous experience here!

After the thrilling safari experience, we went back to our hotel. Now since we knew that Bentota is known for its golden beaches and breathtaking views, we were quite enthralled for our beach dinner. It was a perfect romantic candlelight dinner exactly like the ones shown in movies, and nothing could have made our Sri Lanka trip more memorable!

Witnessing the sunset together while having the locally brewed beer was an epic moment in itself. Not just this, but we also visited the National Museum, Gangaramaya Temple, and Beira Lake. All of these places reflected the true charm of Sri Lanka and the historical beauty that surrounds it. Food In Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has an endless amount of things to offer when it comes to food, both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The thing that I loved the most was that there was an entire ministry of crab. Apart from that, jackfruit, coconut, seafood, and an arsenal of spices are amongst the other famous local cuisines that we treated ourselves with. Kottu was my all time favorite. Referred to as Sri Lanka’s hamburger, it is actually like fried rice served with spicy curry sauce. So, hands down, the Sri Lankan food is nothing less than a perfect blend of lip-smacking and mouth-watering flavors that are perfect for all the couples who love to explore the things that they even put on their platter.

Shopping In Sri Lanka

I am pretty sure that there are tonnes of articles online that talk about the best places for shopping in Sri Lanka and what you must buy from there. And while there are high chances that we often ignore such pieces, it was only after visiting Sri Lanka that I realized that it’s a little paradise for Shopaholics, and even tourists who love taking back a small and sweet souvenir from every place they visit. We came across beautifully handcrafted jewelry, handwoven items, moonstone carvings, Buddha and elephant figurines, tea, and some Ayurvedic beauty products that are actually the best things to buy in Sri Lanka. All of this along with the other things are definitely a must-buy as they are offered at prices that you would happily pay!

Common Questions That You Might Have While Planning A Sri Lanka Romantic Trip

How much should I budget for Sri Lanka?

The budget for a trip to Sri Lanka completely depends on how you book it and from where you do. Also, on the kind of hotels and experiences you pick. Our 5 days trip cost us around INR 75,000 to 80,000 including our Sri Lanka tour package, airfare, entry fees at local attractions, and visa fee as well. While we spent around INR 16,000 per person on a return trip, you can book in advance from an airline offering a cheaper deal.

How do you get around in Sri Lanka?

Since we had booked our package with TravelTriangle, we had a private car for all the 5 days which helped us to commute around the cities and was with us 24X7. Apart from this, you can hire a taxi, travel by bus or train, or use a tuk-tuk.

What type of food do they eat in Sri Lanka?

The central feature or staple dish in Sri Lankan cuisine is boiled or steamed rice, served with a curry of fish, chicken or mutton, along with other curries made with vegetables, lentils or fruits. The dishes are accompanied by pickled fruits or vegetables, chutneys, and sambola.

What should I wear in Sri Lanka?

Considering the heat, jeans are very popular, especially with younger people. Our advice though would be to pack lightweight cloths. Also, don’t forget your sunscreen, sunhat, and sunglasses. In Sri Lanka over 70% of the population is Buddhist, so if you are visiting any of the Buddhist temples, please ensure that your body, including your shoulders, is properly covered.
