It is located in the trans-Himalayan region of Nepal, which lies in the north west. The mountains surrounding the water body gives you scenic beauty to view and experience the magic of nature.     2. Khaptad National Park

    This one is also established in the year 1984 located in the mid-mountain region of Nepal. It sports a variety of animals and plants like leopard, Kalij pheasant, butterflies, moth, etc. The park was named after the late Khaptad swami came at this region to meditate and worship. The best season to visit this place is during spring i.e. from march to may and autumn from October to November. The highlight of this one is the presence of a lot of medicinal plants.

    The national park was established in the year 1988, located in the year Terai region of Nepal. The karnali river flows nearby i.e. one of its eastern side flows nearby it.     It is the first national park established in the year 1976. It is located in the north of Kathmandu. The highlights of this national park are the Langtang valley, holy lakes at Gosainkunda, etc. there are deep gorges with thick forests. The animals spotted here are wild dog, ghoral, Himalayan tahr, impeyan, pheasants, etc. Another interesting feature is the Janai Purnima festival which attracts a lot of travellers. It is celebrated every year in the month of August. So the best time to visit this park is from march to November.

    The location of this national park is towards the north-east of Kathmandu in the Kumbu region. This park has snow leopard, one of the most sought after species to view once you are in a national park. The ones which come naturally in your way while visiting this park is tahr, serow, weasel, maren, langur monkey, etc. This park also hosts living for the Sherpas who live in here. One of the most striking features of this park is that it is the situated at the highest height i.e. 9700 feet above sea level.     6. Parsa Wildlife Reserve

    This national park is centrally located from the country’s perspective. There are a wide variety of plant and animal species available like sloth bear, leopard, snakes like king cobra, etc. It is located nearer to Chitwan national park. It has an area of 499 sq. ft. with fantastic Sal trees majorly. The best time to visit this place is between May to September.

    7. Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

    The wildlife reserve is located in the eastern side of Nepal in the Saptari and Sunsari districts. A river named sapta-koshi flows nearby and floods this region during monsoon. Wild buffalo is an important animal which could be spotted here with certainty. Other animals, birds, fishes also exist in this national park. The national ark is home to the rare species of birds found exclusively in this region. The best time to visit this one could be somewhere between October to May.

    One of the most famous national parks is situated in the south-west region of Kathmandu. It is home to One-horned rhinoceros and royal Bengal tiger. Various other species of flora and fauna also exist like bison, wild boar, birds, etc. the best feature about this park is the possibility of elephant back excursions, canoe trips, river rafting, nature walks, etc. the best time to visit this park is anytime between may till September.

    The location of this wildlife reserve is towards the southern portion of Kanchanpupr district of Nepal. The highlight of this area is the vast population of swamp deer and also the rare Bengal Florican. Other species of animals and plants are also spotted like kraits, Indian python, rat snakes, etc. another interesting thing is the availability of jungle safari to explore the park. The best part of the year to visit this place is February to may or from mid-September to mid-December.

    10. Makalu Barun National Park

    This national park covers an area of around 2300 sq. kms and above. The park has great landmarks as its boundaries from four sides. In the eastern side, the Arun river passes by, in the west is the Sagarmatha national park, from the north Nepal china border makes the boundary while Saune Danda hill mark the southern boundary. The humungous species of birds and their chirping is a treat to the ears. Also there are animals present like langur monkey, serow, Himalayan weasel, etc. The best time to visit this is from October to November or from march to April.
