1. Hiking

The trail to the top of the Padar Island is quite easy considering the views it affords. Often rated to be one of the best things to do in Komodo island, you can do this trek as part of most boat tours of the Komodo. Once you get to the top, you can spot the pink, black, and white beaches of the island with brown black ridges in between and surrounded by the azure blue waters. The point is extremely picture-worthy, and quite a few tourists stay back to click the point at sunset.

2. Manta Points

So named after the Manta ray schools that are common here, these spots around the island are quite popular with the tourists visiting the Komodo island. If you jump in, you can swim with the fish and also spot some of the beautiful corals that have made the diving spots here famous. The other manta spot is about an hours boat ride away from the Komodo island, and the spot is just open sea where you can see tons of colorful fish besides the manta. 4. Scuba Diving

However, some beaches in the Komodo islands have genuinely pink sand. This is because of a specific red coral that is common off the coast of the islands. 6. Cunca Waterfall

The Cunca falls are located near the town of Labuan Bajo, which is where tourists are supposed to stay when visiting the Komodo Islands. On days when you are not on the boat tours, you can walk around the island that is lush green (as most islands here are), unlike the Komodo Islands which are devoid of green cover. The Cunca waterfalls are a hidden treasure amongst Komodo Island activities.

If you are wondering what to do in Komodo Island once the sun sets, the happy hour at the Le Pirate is a great place to check out (although technically you are in Labuan Bajo). The Le Pirate is actually a hotel with 14 rooms that are shaped like mini-homes. The rooms are on the third floor, the second floor has a themed restaurant that serves fusion Indonesian and continental cuisine. The fourth floor has a terrace pool as well as a skybar where the crowd really comes out during the happy hours after dark.

While shopping in Komodo Island is not really possible because there are is almost no habitation, the base city of Labuan Bajo is somewhere you can spend some time netting great souvenirs. The Magnolia Boutique is where you will find exquisite handmade jewelry, clothes, Atlas pearls, and other items. At Rumah Tenun Baku Peduli (which is 10 kilometers from the town of Labuan Bajo), you can taste some authentic Flores coffee that is cultivated in the Indonesian islands and also buy some Flores souvenirs woven in the local style.

10. Milky Way

The Komodo Islands and the town of Labuan Bajo are quiet and there is literally no pollution or much of lights to speak of here. If you are doing the two-day overnight tour of the islands by boat, the skies are definitely something that you will notice.
