Sand's 6 days trip to Kerala

Hello Guys, I am writing this review after utilizing the service of Travel triangle for my family tour (with 2 kids) to Kerala. I have planned the trip in a short notice and travel triangle helped in getting the quotes quickly. I had modified the provided itinerary with commence of trip from Kochi and ending it at Trivandrum, such that lovely beaches of Kerala can be explored. I had my flight bookings also done through travel triangle with no hassle. Their travel partner ‘Holiday Package Booking’ suggested with flight options that optimize the flight cost. While initially there was few initial delay in getting the hotel bookings from the travel partner, however, with regular follow-up they provided the hotel booking and cab details within time. I would suggest them to be more responsive. Our tour include places Munnar-Thekkady-Alleppy-Kovalam-Trivandrum. The best stay of the entire trip was the Munnar. The USP was the Munnar itself and definitely the hotel “Aranyaka Resorts”. The hotel was very strategically located between the tea gardens. The view from the hotel room was Hill and water fall on one side, which was mesmerising. The food of the hotel (breakfast / lunch / dinner) was very good. Room provided was with extra bed and the size was quite spacious. Overall it was a memorable stay in Munnar. Thekkady stay has been provided in Hotel Tigers Roar. While the room provided was quite big (suite), however, the room was located in lower ground floor and close to a drain channel, which lead to foul smell in bathroom. The dinner was good however the breakfast was okay. All places in Thekkady are in short distance. We reached early around 1400 hrs to take the last trip boat ride of 1530 hrs at Periyyar river and could easily get the tickets. Firstly bus ticket (operated by Govt) has to be bought which will take you to inside the Periyar National Park, so please plan to reach early. Boat ride was one hour, view was good but could locate only few deers/ birds only. Would recommend to please visit thekkady cultural show, after the boat ride, which was nice. House boat stay was pleasant with respect to the ride and place. Food provided is okay, but could have been better. Lastly after 6 hrs drive from Alleppy we reached Kovalam, which was bit tiring as enroute there were few traffic congestion. The hotel provided was Unwind Hotels & Resorts. It is located next to the beach along with various other hotels and number of restaurants. As hotel is close to the beach hence there is no direct access to hotel from car and your luggage need to be taken in small trolley by hotel staff from nearest parking. This is applicable for all hotels located at the beach. We found no major issue other than some waiting time for hotel person to come and take you to hotel. The hotel room was okay. The USP was the location of hotel, which is next to beach. This really helped as after sea bathing you need a fresh water shower, which is located just outside the hotel entrance, and you need not to walk long distance in wet clothes after sea bath. Also, you can enjoy to walkover to get the sea view anytime you want (no sea view from room though). There are number of good restaurants located along the beach providing both veg / non-veg food. Hotel also has a restaurant but we found other good restaurant options available, which we utilized. Breakfast in the hotel was mix type, few items are good but few are not (e.g.; idli which is considered to be a local dish is not made well whereas the chooley was prepared good). We stayed for two days at Kovalam. Second day was half day visit to Poovar Island, which is definitely a must in your trip. On the last day our trip ended with visit to Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple at Trivandrum. Other best thing was the Cab and the Driver. The cab provided was clean and good (Toyota Etios). The driver was also quite professional. He drove with patience in entire trip. From pickup until drop at airport the Cab driver has acted as a guide. The driver knew all the places included in the package and took us to all the places. Overall a memorable trip. Thanks

Zebanoor's 6 days trip to Kerala

I had done a booking earlier from travel triangle and hence opted for the same. Kerela trip was overall a good one with lots of memories. However, the hotel at Munnar was not good at all and the service was very bad. The place was beautiful, but not all the places mentioned in the itinerary was covered by the driver. Also we were informed that there were no elephants. Thekkady was a disappointment as tour operators did jot mention us the timing of boating. Please book ur boating online well in advance. Thekkady was waste of time. The boat house in allepey was splendid. The food was superb. Kovalam and the hotel provided was good. But tour operators did not inform that kovalam is near trivandrum, else we could cover that. We had to drive all the way to kochi which is 6 hrs drive to catch our train. Better take flight or train from trivandrum if you are visiting kovalam. Chowara beach was better than main kovalam beach as it was less crowded and clean water. All India Holiday were always on call, helping me out plan my trip, but after payment my calls were not received by the agents nor messages were replied on time. They should always be available on call as we might face issues anytime during our trip. Had a lot of problem communicating with the driver, hence few places were left out. Overall a good trip. Boat house and the food there.

Hi..I visited Kerala with my wife and daughter from 27-09-17 to 01-10-17 for 4 nights..My travel planner was Rocking trips... Starting from day 1 it was kovallam KTDC hotel. The hotel sight was great and view from the hotel was amazing.. But the hotel rooms are not very good.. The smell of moist was there ...Little bit congested rooms..Staff was very helping and courteous..Then 2nd day at poovar island resort..The resort is tooo good ... Everything was perfect.. Then in trivandrum hotel keys was booked.. It seems to be professional / business man type hotel.. No greenery or activities available in hotel..When you are planning a hotel bookings for family trip these things should be considered by tour planner..Then house boat...Here the expectations were completely lost. The house boat mentioned in vouchers was RT house boat but in actual it was of Dreammakers George and Peter house boat..It was ten years old and cleaning in boat was out class .. mosquito, ants, dust etc was in abundance...and wooden furniture was very old... Overall house boat was not as per expectation.. Only good thing was the captain and cook ..both were very nice and gentle persons..But for boat only 1/5 marks..ac remote display was broken, voltage dip problem..etc.. On to chauffeur, he was nice and good driver but as mentioned in tour planner details that driver will be knowing Hindi and English both..he did not understand Hindi.. Also the planner plan to boat atthirapally waterfall on the way from allepy to Cochin airport which was poor planing as it could not be planned on the interval of check out and flight check in duration.. So disheartened with that also.. Poovar island resort and boating in lake at poovar..

The highlight of the trip was Munnar. It mesmerized with its natural beauty and so was the Aranyaka resort with cozy rooms and a splendid view to offer. The Alleppey and the houseboat experience was a disappointment. It is overrated and definitely not worth spending time on. Trivandrum was surprisingly good option to visit with many attractions to offer. Though the hotel (Maurya Rajdhani) is past its prime, it is compensated by the visit to the Kovalam beach.

After paying the 1st installment there was seldom any calls. I had to call and enquire the situation. They responded pretty well after that. Hotels were good but the problem occurred in trivandrum where the hotel was not booked and we had to book it by our own. Now what would have happened if there were no rooms in that Hotel. Fortunately we got one but think about the worst. We didnt pay the last installment hence it helped us to book the hotel and deduct. But what would have happened if we would paid in full. Then we might have to run after refund. So overall good but they need to be more vigilant. After all service us what we need and we pay for.

Overall the trip was Awesome . But the trip plan was mismanaged 1 day in our travel i ternary was to visit Fort Kochi and we reached airport @3:00 then we left for Fort Kochi which we reached at about 4:30 and it was closed and thus our first day nothing was covered. 2 day & 3rd day to munnar was Awesome . Also i would like to add that there are places near to Munnar like Ripple Waterfalls,Chennai express Shooting point etc which are not mentioned in i ternary we covered them by hiring the jeep . 4 day we started by 10am and we reached Thekady by 2:30 and then in hurry we were able to do the Periyar lake Boating. 5 th day we started at 10am we reached Allepey by 12:30 we reached the boat house(Butterfly cruise) the view was very nice the Quality of Boat that was promised by the agent was not upto the mark it has very bad beddings and also the boat driver was always busy in his phone not explained us anything about the point he covered. 6 th day we started for Kovallam we were a little late as the driver was not on time we reached at our resort Pappu-Kutty beach resort which was 3* and on the kovallam beach. The resort was nice but the facilities provide were not upto the mark the restaurant was not good and the breakfast there was ok. 7th day to Padmanabham temple & zoo. 8th day to kanyakumari in between we were Poovar back water and Golden sand beach that was were nice and not mentioned in the itenary also we have to hire a boat for Rs. 2000 for 2 person to visit the place. Overall our trip was awesome the only it was some mismanaged Also it is suggested that if you are staying in kovallam then always take return from Trivandrum as our return was from Kochi we have to travel back from Kovallam to kochi which has taken around 8 hours i.e morning 10 we reched airport by 6 which was a total waste of time & the things mentioned in the Kochi iternary were never covered due to lack of Time.
