How To Reach Jammu and Kashmir
One of the major draws of coming to Jammu and Kashmir is the time spent on the road itself. High-altitude crossings like Zojila and Khardungla beckon adventurers from all corners of India. On the other hand, a flight to Leh or Srinagar allows spectacular panoramic views of the higher Himalayas. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is accessible by road, rail, and air. Travellers can easily book flights, trains, taxis, or buses to reach the northernmost state in India. The state has three major regions: Jammu, Kashmir Valley, and Ladakh.
Each region has at least one principal city where major modes of interstate transport are available for domestic and international visitors. So, if you are planning a holiday to the land of high passes and surreal beauty, here are the following means of transport to reach Jammu and Kashmir:
Srinagar International Airport (SXR), also known as Sheikh-ul-Alam Airport, and Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport (IXL) in Leh are the major airports in Jammu and Kashmir state. The airport in Srinagar is connected with major cities in India including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bangalore. The airport in Leh has direct flights to and from Delhi, Mumbai, and Srinagar. Taxi rentals and private shuttles are available at both airports in Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Jammu Aiport or Jammu Civil Enclave handles domestic flights from major urban centres in India.
Jammu Tawi, located in the state’s winter capital, is the busiest railway station in Jammu and Kashmir. It serves as the northern terminal of major trains connecting the city with the rest of India. Regular express trains from Jammu to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Trivandrum run efficiently.
The picturesque section between Banihal and Baramulla of Jammu–Baramulla railway line passes through several towns in Kashmir Valley. It is an excellent alternative for those wanting to take the tracks not often taken.
Jammu and Srinagar, seasonal capitals of the state can be reached throughout the year by road. Jammu is served by a network of state and national highways. If you’re wondering about how to reach Kashmir Valley by road, follow the NH1(A) that passes through the city of Jammu to Srinagar in Kashmir Valley. The highway continues to the east before terminating at Leh in Ladakh region. NH1 is a major and vital highway which handles the primary traffic coming in and out of the region. Government and private operators run buses and taxis between Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh.
The Jawahar Tunnel, 2.8 kilometres in length, connects Jammu with Kashmir Valley. The 3,528-m-high mountain pass Zoji La carries the Srinagar-Leh highway extending into Ladakh. The 474-km-long Leh-Manali Highway is another major road with serving the Ladakh region. Both Srinagar-Leh and Leh-Manali highways remain vulnerable to weather conditions in winter as the snowfall blocks the road access.

Naresh's 6 days trip to KashmirVery good service provided by our dream valley travel agency..I would like to recommend this travel agency to tourists who are willing to visit kashmir...best experience in srinagar..try to provide good hotel than gulmarg house in gulmarg.. Gulmarg is nice place..
Anupama's 4 days trip to KashmirHotel Encore at Srinagar was worst, although they say it a 4 star, it is not even worth of 2 star, room service was very bad, bathroom and room was very bad. I suggest not to take this hotel. We were really scared to stay at that hotel. Enden resort at pahalgam was very good but the room service was very bad, they don't even take our calls , there was no TV, no proper room heater which is very essential in winter. Pine spring at gulmarg was excellent, room service was very good, hospitality was awesome, I wish to stay at this hotel for my next visit. Food was good at Encorr, Srinagar, Okay at Eden resorts , pahalgam and awesome, delicious at Pine spring, gulmarg. Cab service was excellent and driver Mehraaz was understanding, cooperative and given excellent service.
Aman's 6 days trip to KashmirBest travel agent for hill stations... Polite and helpful for customers... We got stuck on srinagar Highway in January 2020 while we are going for trip. He understood our situation and change our destination for trip.....Happy to hire Umar as our travel agent...
Kiran's 4 days trip to KashmirFirstly I have to mention about cab drivers Muddasir and Parwez Ahmed who helped us a lot by guiding and their behavior like family members. Staff at hotels and boat house are supportive and their service towards customer is good. Next, Kashmir Holiday travels given best quote and executed as per the itinerary without any flaws. Finally, everyone made our trip a most memorable. I surely recommend Travel Triangle.
Bhavika's 8 days trip to KashmirThe hotels given to me initially for the first 2 days were different then the actual hotels given by the travel agent in the package. He gave some unacceptable reasons for changing the hotels. Also on 31st Dec i had a booking for an overnight stay at Gulmarg, however after reaching the site I was been told by the hotel staff that their is no booking done by the travel agent. I had to request the Hotel Manager to give us an accomadation and I had to pay for it separately. This ruined my entire experience of the trip with the travel agent.
