Being close to India, Malaysia is one of the most preferred holiday getaways for Indian tourists. No wonder, Malaysia tourism packages from India are frequently taken up. Most of the major airlines connect Malaysia to the major cities in India, as well as, to countries like Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. Owing to this ease of connectivity along with copious pleasurable factors, tour packages to Malaysia are always high in demand. One of the major criteria for selection, when mulling over what sort of Malaysia tour package from India should one buy, is the itinerary. Before deciding on the ideal tour packages for Malaysia, find out whether the sightseeing itinerary takes the traveler to not just the most popular attractions of Malaysia, but also to some of the more offbeat destinations. Some of the beaches here, although not the most popular, are an absolute haven for those seeking a rendezvous with nature.

What Is The Best Time To Take A Malaysia Tour?

Malaysia experiences the equatorial climate because of its proximity to the equator. Most parts of Malaysia are marked by an equatorial climate that makes days hotter than nights. Malaysia remains hot and humid all round the year. Since it is also located close to the water body, the evenings are generally marked by cool and pleasant breeze. The temperature varies between a range of 20°C to 30°C during a year. Although Malaysia is close to the equator, the temperature does not remain too high, and the highlands experience a cooler temperature.

Summer Season (June to August)

Summer season in Malaysia begins from the month of June and lasts till the month of August. These three months are marked by high temperature. While the highest temperature may rise up to 32°C, the lowest temperature, on an average, remains 25°C. The months of June and July receive the least amount of rainfall as compared to August. As the weather remains dry, tourists can enjoy water sports and other adventures. If you are looking forward to take part in some of the water adventure activities, you may plan a trip to Malaysia during this time. One of the important festivals of Malaysia, the Gawai festival takes place during the month of June. It would be a good opportunity to be a part of the same if you are here during the summer season.

Autumn Season (September - November)

The monsoon season in Malaysia falls in the months of September to November. The lowest temperature during this period remains at 25°C while the highest at 31°C. With the high temperature, rainfall also takes place during this season. This is the time when the water bodies and the forests look splendid. See the refreshed look along with lush green environment with Malaysia travel package. During this season, most of the adventure seekers abstain visiting Malaysia. This makes the country less crowded and you can enjoy a peaceful vacation. Also, carry an umbrella along as showers are expected for most part of the season. Some of the best places to visit during this time are the museums and beaches. While you can take a day tour of the museums, beaches must be visited before it gets dark. Another happening event, the international music festival, also takes place during this time.

Winter Season ( December - February)

Winter season in Malaysia starts from the month of December and continues till February. During the winter season, the temperature is recorded between 24°C and 32°C. Unlike the regular winters, winter in Malaysia is marked by heavy rainfall during the days and evenings. The temperature also drops down due to the showers. If you are planning a visit during these months, include a visit to the west coast of Malaysia in your travel itinerary. During the winter season in Malaysia, Christmas and New year are celebrated with much enthusiasm. Other important festivals include Hari Raya Thaipusam and Chinese New Year. This season is also a great time to embark on a rejuvenating, luxury vacation.

  • FAQs for Malaysia

When in Malaysia, tourists are advised to dress decently. Exposing is a big no-no here. Being an Islamic nation, the religion suffuses the dress code. Torsos should be kept covered. Figure-hugging clothes are often frowned upon, particularly for women.

Packing essentials to Malaysia are -

    • Light clothing - Pack light clothing, preferably cotton that wicks away moisture and allows you to breath. Also pack a light rain jacket or windcheater that keeps you dry in times of downpours. Also pack rain boots that help you easily slog through the mud.
    • Mosquito Nets and Repellent – Generously smear mosquito repellent all over your body to ward off these insects. A mosquito net provides an extra layer of protection to keep you from various other insects of this tropical region.
    • Sunscreen – At all times, keep sunscreen handy and apply as and when required. Most especially, when you are on the beach or strolling out, apply generous amount of the sun guard on your skin.
    • Shoes without laces or buckles – At several paces, travelers have to take off their shoes before entering. So, make sure to wear easy to slip on and off shoes.
    • Hammock – Carry a hammock to relax when you are spending most of your time outside.

Yes, tour packages to Malaysia can easily be customized by TravelTriangle. In Malaysia, credit and debit cards are a great option for making all sorts of payments at small and large stores, shopping malls, emporiums, airports, restaurants and hotels. For the smaller street markets and kiosks, making cash payments in the Malaysian currency, the Malaysia Ringgit, is ideal. You can also take travelers cheques with you, but you will have to encash it before making payments with it. There are plenty of local and foregin banks that would happily encash traveler cheques.

Malaysia, divided by the South China Sea into East Malaysia and Peninsular Malaysia, has a lot of options for traveling within the two land masses. In Melaka and Georgetown, one can hire trishaws, available at all corners, as well as private taxis for getting from one place to another. In addition, there are local buses in most big cities, as well as a monorail in Kuala Lumpur. However, for those looking to travel from one East Malaysia to Peninsular Malaysia, or vice versa, the ferry is the best option.

The best places to visit in Malaysia are:

I am quite happy with the trips and all around management of the same. Most of the things were good with few exceptions and that might be because of some lack of knowledge from my side or their side but still overall experience is good. Anjali - with whom we planned our trip was nice, coordinating and humble throughout the trip and even at onsite destination she was regularly in touch. Malaysia local tourist agency was also very professional and supportive. Pick-up, drop, local guiding, behavior, in all spheres they maintained their decency. So on gathering all the points on the scale of 10, I will give them 7.5. Langkawi hotel , Bella Vista, its sea side view and location in the city with all around facilities including Indian restaurant nearby for food gives us good experience there.
