Malaysia Tour Package From Mumbai

Malaysia is a country in the South China Sea, neighbouring various other countries, either through physical land borders or via maritime borders. Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei are on the other side of its land borders, while the maritime borders are shared with Vietnam and the Philippines.
Singapore is connected to Malaysia by way of a singular causeway. While Malaysia is clearly a different place than India, with its own history, its own set of customs and traditions, people travelling there from India will still feel right at home. In part, this is due to the hospitality of the Malaysian people, but also because Indian culture has had an influence over Malaysian culture as a result of the two nations being partners in trade for centuries. If you choose to go there on a vacation with some Mumbai to Malaysia tour packages, you wouldn’t exactly stick out like a sore thumb.

Petronas Twin Towers

You couldn’t possibly travel to Malaysia and manage to miss these two towering behemoths. Located in the heart of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, the Petrona Twin Towers almost function as a North Star for the people in the city, as they are almost always visible in the skyline due to their incredible height. Stretching towards the sky with a height of 452 m, the towers held the record of being the tallest in the world for 6 years, from 1998 to 2004, until they were dethroned by the Taipei 101 in Taiwan. Regardless, the Petronas Twin Towers remain an impressive structure and one of the most recognisable landmarks anywhere in the world.

Cameron Highlands

Situated in the state of Pahang in Malaysia, the Cameron Highlands district is a picturesque hill station, with swathes of farmland, gardens and other vegetation stretched out over its huge 71000-hectare territory. The place derived its name from a famous British coloniser, explorer and geologist named Sir William Cameron, who was tasked with mapping out the region near the Perak-Pahang border. The way the district is modelled makes it seem like an old English village, with its old-school buildings, the availability of traditional English snack and the overall vibe of the place. Visitors have a number of activities to partake in, all of which are soothing in their own way. One could take a stroll through the tea plantations, smell the roses through these Mumbai to Malaysia tour packages. A’Famosa Fortress Constructed after the colonial conquest of a Portuguese sailor named Alfonso de Albuquerque, the A’Famosa Fort is located in the Malaysian state of Malacca. While once an impressive monument that was spread out over a vast area, the fort today has some of its bits and pieces separated. This due to the fort changing hands from the Portuguese who built it, to the Dutch who expanded upon it a bit, and finally to the British who ordered its destruction.

Ideal Duration

While Malaysia isn’t exactly half a world away, it’s not just down the street from your house either. This isn’t like a trip from Mumbai to Pune where you can get there and come back within the same day. If you’re travelling so far, across the ocean, to a country filled to the brim with sights to see, it may be wise to spend a decent amount of time there. A 10-day vacation with some Mumbai to Malaysia tour packages sounds like a fair amount of time to enjoy a fulfilling holiday here.

Best Time to Visit

Summer

Summer in Malaysia stretches from the months of April to October. Temperatures are reasonably comfortable here, with the mercury readings not exceeding the higher 20s on the celsius scale. Most activities in the eastern parts of the country are easily available to partake in and mobility is not affected at all.

Monsoon

The rains in Malaysia are an interesting phenomenon. Essentially, there are two monsoons that pass through the country. During the summer months from April to October, the eastern parts remain entirely sunny with some light, occasional drizzling at most. The western regions, however, experience heavy rainfall during this time, making the climate less than ideal for visitors. The vegetation is in full bloom at this time, but many of the coastal activities and adventure sports out on the sea have to be restricted for safety purposes. The eastern regions, on the other hand, experience monsoon during the winter months, from December to February and they are similarly intense when compared to their western counterparts.

Winter

The winter in Malaysia runs from December to January and the weather is wonderful during this time. The mornings are pleasant, cool and comfortable, with temperatures hovering around the 15? territory. Nighttime is a different story, with the cold air biting a bit more, so you may find it necessary to pack on some layers of clothing. While it is a short window of time, the winter months are a happening time in Malaysia. Various end-of-the-year celebrations are on-going, leading to an exciting time which draws quite the crowd to the country. The eastern part of Malaysia does have a bit of a damper but on some of these parties, however, as the rains are also in full swing during the winter.

How to Reach

By Air

It is a fairly painless and convenient process to fly from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airports to a number of destinations in Malaysia. There is one direct flight to Kuala Lumpur, as well as multiple one-stop flights to other destinations such as Langkawi or Penang. The stops commonly occur at Chennai, Bangalore, Bangkok or Colombo and sometimes do require a transit visa.

By Rail

There is a train network within Malaysia itself, but no route from India that connects to it.

By Road

A road trip to Malaysia from Mumbai is a behemoth of a journey, spanning over 6500 km and requiring about 5 days of constant driving. The route crosses the breadth of India, before going through Myanmar and Thailand before entering Malaysia.

FAQs for Malaysia

What is the size of Malaysia?

Malaysia covers an area of 330803 sq km in total. This area is split into 13 different states and houses an approximate total of 3.16 crore people, per the World Bank.

Which Malaysian food items should one try?

Malaysians certainly like their food spicy and it will become abundantly clear once you try some of their more popular dishes. The Mee Goreng Mamak, a noodle dish packed with meat, shrimp, some aromatic vegetables and - you guessed it - chilli. The Apam Balik would be considered as a dessert due to its sweetness, but it has a familiar appearance for most Indians, bearing a resemblance to a classic Dosa.

What are Malaysia’s important festivals?

Celebrating the victory of the Lord Muruga over an evil spirit named Soorpadam, Thaipusam is actually a Tamil festival that is also celebrated over in Indonesia. It is celebrated with quite the buzz around Lord Muruga’s shrine at the iconic Batu Caves near the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. The Buddhist population present in Malaysia celebrates the holy day of Vesak, a festival said to commemorate some of the most important milestones of Gautam Buddha’s life.

Narayana's 11 days trip to Malaysia

First of all both me and my friend had booked the trip together with our families. He booked a different flight for both of us from Singapore to Malaysia and didn't arrange for the pick up from Airport to the hotel in Kuala Lumpur for my friend. Also because of lack of co-ordination, we could not do the half day city tour that day and we had to squeeze in this on another day. They had charged us for the fast pass at universal studios in Singapore but finally gave us only the regular pass. We had to separately pay 60 Singapore Dollars per person to purchase that. Overall i would not recommend this agent to anyone. At one point of time we were at mercy of this guy because the plan was not in place and that too this happened after we reached Kuala Lumpur.

4 star hotel with good name was provided on the recommendation of the agent. When we reached hotel they were not ready to provide room before their check in time of 3pm. On the last day hotel power supply outage was there and we had to be without electricity for about 5 hours in the midnight. Really bad experience. Trip was ok, points were ok city tour could have been more.

Prasun's 5 days trip to Malaysia

I am quite happy with the trips and all around management of the same. Most of the things were good with few exceptions and that might be because of some lack of knowledge from my side or their side but still overall experience is good. Anjali - with whom we planned our trip was nice, coordinating and humble throughout the trip and even at onsite destination she was regularly in touch. Malaysia local tourist agency was also very professional and supportive. Pick-up, drop, local guiding, behavior, in all spheres they maintained their decency. So on gathering all the points on the scale of 10, I will give them 7.5. Langkawi hotel , Bella Vista, its sea side view and location in the city with all around facilities including Indian restaurant nearby for food gives us good experience there.
