Kabini forest reserve is the forest which surrounds the river Kabini and her tributaries. The forest is one of the most popular reserves in India and home to the Indian Elephants. 1. Rajas Seat

2. Omkareshwar Temple

Omkareshwar Temple is a place dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. It is built in the style of a Darga and has stunning scriptures and 18-century architecture. It was constructed by the King Lingarajandra.

3. Madikeri Fort

This is a 17th-century structure built by Mudduraja. It was reconstructed into a granite palace by Tipu Sultan. The place offers a lesson in history and the art that our ancestors were capable of.

4. Iruppu Waterfalls

Situated between the forests on the hills of Coorg these waterfalls of milky white water is a great place to visit to be with nature surrounded by the sound of tinkling water.

5. Kabini Dam

Winter

Winter occurs from October to February. The season brings cool winds, clear sky, and energetic atmosphere to Coorg-Kabini. Winter is the season when most animal sightings take place in the forest reserve.

Summer

Summer starts around March and ends around May in the region. It is the most popular time to visit Coorg as it is cooler than the other regions being a hill town. The mornings and the evenings around the lakes and rivers you can see multiple sightings of various animals in Kabini in these months.

Monsoon

Mangalore International Airport is the nearest airport to Coorg located at a distance of 165 kilometres. The closest airport to Kabini is Coimbatore Airport, but Bangalore Airport located at a distance of 200 kilometres is the most accessible. Both the Mangalore and Bangalore airports are very well connected to all the major cities in India and around the world.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is Mysore which is located at a distance of 120 kilometres from Coorg and 80 kilometres to Kabini. This junction is connected to all major cities in India with frequent trains. There are multiple buses from the station to both the destinations.

By Road

Both Coorg and Kabini are well connected by roadways to all the cities in India directly or indirectly. Roadways are the best option to reach both the places as public transport like buses and cars from the airports and the railway junction are available at reasonable rates.
