London Eye in London

A Giant Ferris wheel is located on the Thames’ South bank in London. This 443 feet high structure having a 394 feet diameter has been publicized as the London Eye. People enjoy the breathtaking views atop this beautiful wheel.

This masterpiece was designed by famous architects Nic Bailey, Frank Anatole, Steve Chilton, Mark Sparrowhawk, David Marks, Julia Barfield and Malcolm Cook. The public was allowed to visit the London Eye in the year 2000.

There are 32 capsules on the London Eye which are air-conditioned, sealed and attached to the outer side of the Eye. Each of them represents the Boroughs of London, but they are numbered from 1 to 33 since they have excluded number 13 due to the superstition of bad luck.

It has been passed-on from British Airways and Tussauds group to Merlin Entertainments; later, it was named as “The Merlin Entertainments London Eye”.
