1. Nilgiri Mountain Rail

Best Time to Visit

Being two of the most beautiful hill-stations in the south surrounded by the Nilgiris, there is no bad time to visit these two places. Summers (March to June) are pleasant here with cool winds blowing while the sun kisses your skin. Monsoons are again enjoyed by many tourists as he already green landscape gets ever more green and pretty with clouds and occasional rains which gives you the feel of a wonderland. Couples prefer visiting Ooty and Coonoor in the month of October to February when there is a nip in the air while you explore the place.

By Air

The closest airport is Coimbatore International Airport which is well connected with major cities of India. Once you reach here, you can take a bus or taxi to reach Ooty.

By Rail

The nearest railway station is Mettupalayam from Ooty that has regular trains coming from cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, and Coimbatore. Once you Reach Ooty, take the toy train to reach Coonoor which doesn’t have any other train traveling to this place since laying railway tracks here is difficult because of the altitude and steep hills. Traveling by this toy train is also an adventure in its own thanks to pretty views you would be witnessing, hence make sure it is a part of your Ooty Coonoor package.

By Road

Both government and private buses can be boarded from Bangalore, Mysore, and Chennai for Ooty. You can also hire cabs or travel by bus to reach Coonoor once you have reached Ooty.
