Situated along the Tapti River, Dutch Garden designed in European style, is the best place to unwind. The garden is also the resting spot of some English and Dutch explorers, who came to explore and settled in India in the past. Baron Adrian Van Reede, the then director of the Dutch company and builder of the first Dutch port for trading in Surat, has a huge memorial in the garden. 2. Sardar Patel Museum

Established in 1890, Sardar Patel Museum was earlier known as Winchester Museum. But after Independence, the building became the State Governor’s Residence, which later got converted into a national museum, also known as Sardar Sangrahalaya. The museum displays photographs, statues, silk textiles, artifacts, maps, and paintings, that depict the history and heritage of Surat. Apart from the exhibits, the 3D audiovisual laser show conducted every evening portrays the history of India.
3. Jagdishchandra Bose Municipal Aquarium

Jagdishchandra Bose Municipal Aquarium houses more than a hundred species of fish, making it a wide-ranging underwater aquarium. Named after the popular Indian scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose, it is a popular place in Surat for locals and tourists alike. One can witness marine life under a roof by exploring fishes, lobsters, sharks, turtles, jellyfish, and other aquatic animals.
4. Surat Castle

Built in the 16th century by Sultan Mahmud Shah III to protect the city from recurring attacks by the Portuguese, Surat Castle is also known as Old Fort. 5. Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden

6. Sarthana Nature Park

Established in 1984, Sarthana Nature Park is a zoological park spread over an area of 81 acres. It houses a wide variety of species of animals and birds like Rosy Pelicans, Jackals, Leopards, Stripped Hyenas, Royal Bengal Tigers, Crocodiles, Emus, Peacocks, and more. A separate garden for butterflies and insects is also there on the park premises.
7. Science Center
