Lake Tekapo Holiday Packages

Lake Tekapo

The town, Lake Tekapo (the name is similar to the lake) is on the southern tip of the lake, and has some of the most splendid and sweeping views imaginable. The lake is present in Mackenzie District on the southern island of New Zealand.
A turquoise lake amid the snow-clad mountains, Lake Tekapo sparkles beneath the blue sky. It is often a magical experience to see a line-up of mountains reflecting on its waters. Its rock floor is a specialty as the glaciers roll down grinding the rock particles and depositing them on the lake’s floor.

The splendid view of the lake and skiing opportunities on the mountains is worth the visit if you book Lake Tekapo packages. Therefore, often tourists who are traveling from Christchurch to Mount Cook make it a base station on the route.

How To Reach

By Road

Several bus services that travel to Tekapo are available from Christchurch Airport, Queenstown or Wanaka and Christchurch. It is a three hours journey from Christchurch airport to Lake Tekapo. The distance for a road trip is 1200 km.

By Air

The nearest airport to reach Lake Tekapo is Christchurch airport. If you are traveling from the cities of Australia or other countries, you can fly to Christchurch airport.

By Train

You can also take a train if you are traveling from Rangiora to reach Lake Tekapo. However, there are obvious disadvantages as the trains run once every day on this route and the time duration is longer than by road, that is a little more than 4 hours.

Best Time To Visit

Lake Tekapo during winter months (mid-November to late December)

You can visit Lake Tekapo in the winter months when the icy-blue water projects a strikingly different image compared to the snow-capped mountains. It is when the nearby ski fields remain busy and you can be a part of thrilling adventures down the snowy terrain.

The place as a part of Lake Tekapo packages offers many snow activities and you can have good fun out there. However, in case you are there for a relaxing trip, viewing the perfect natural and scenic beauty can keep you occupied as well.

Lake Tekapo during summers

If you have to consider the aesthetics of the place, then summers are no less. The summers enliven the lake, as the wildflowers add to the beauty. You can have a swim in the pristine lake. These aspects make it a perfect visit even for the summer holidays.

Tekapo has many summer activities for its visitors, so you can also look out for a trip during the summer holidays.

Hitesh's 6 days trip to Ladakh

Leh-Ladakh is always in our bucket list and finally we did it. We have booked our trip with TripTrail and yugal is also cooperative and following up in our overall journey. Hotels are good, staff behaviour is nice, rooms are clean and cosy enough to stay, and food is also ok. We stayed at Leh, Nu
bra and near pangong lake, itinerary sounds perfect for our trip as per 6 days and 5 night. Luckily, we had seen the snowfall that makes our trip more memorable and added some more adventurous and extreme experience in our trip.Driver is also good and driving in a very attentive manner. Overall experience is good and we will also look forward to book a trip with TripTrail in future.

Leh Ladakh is beautiful and perfect place for summer vacations. We had 6N and 7D trip and complete itinerary was planned by Trip Trial/ Travel Triangle. We reached at Leh from Hyderabad on 28th May and left on 3rd June, 2022 in a group of 4 persons. We spend first 2nightsat Leh, 2nights at Nubra val
ley, one night at Pangong Lake and last night again at Leh. During entire trip we haven't face any problem. The journey was well architect and scheduled. The hotels were upto our expections. We had very comfort stay n good food at Hotels. One extra mattresses, breakfast and dinner were included in our package. We enjoyed ice/snow at khardungla pass during onwards and again at Changala pass during return from Pangong Lake. It is life time memorable event of doing rafting at Shyok River at Nubra valley. We enjoyed camel riding, ATV drive, beautiful Sand dunes and world longest Zip lining at Hunter/Nubra valley. The visit of Turtuk, Thang villages and Indo-Pak LOC is always memorable. We spend beautiful evening at Pangong lake and stayed wooden cottage. The drivers drove slow and safely. During entire stay he was a local guide for us. He covered all the site seeing points and explained their importance nicely during the trip. We are very much satisfied with Mr. Yugal Senani, a trip advisor. He was always available on call as and when required. He hasn't missed any of our call unattended. We got excellent service and support from Mr. Yugal and the we developed good repo a faith on each other that will certainly help us for coming trips. At last we had very good, safe and memorable trip. Thanks to Mr. Yugal, Lobsang and entire team of trip trial/ trip triangle. We will see you next time for further trips.

This one was a decision taken in haste but it only got better! It was my daughter's birthday so we were thinking of celebrating it offsite and decided to go to leh and Ladakh which we were planning for quite a while but didn't know where to start so randomly booked the air tickets with absolutely
no plan in mind. And then we came across with Yugul, from Travel Triangle at just the right time. From our itinerary to our accomodation and food all was taken care of by then. There were places they suggested and we approved, all well within our budget. No hiccups whatsoever in the trip. Although a few of us gave in to the altitude sickness but luckily we were prepared. All safe and sound, had the best scenery, sites, and rides starting from Leh > Kargil - Drass > Nubra Valley > Pangong > back to Leh. Missed Tuktuk though, was a bit tight schedule owing to long drives and lots of travel. All in all it was a 7 day trip from Delhi. And no complaints with any services we required. Quite satisfied with the planning and execution from the company and of course, we had Yugul all the time available for any assistance we might have needed him to address. Needless to mention name of Mr Stanzine our companion as Driver and Guide for entire six days, was too sincere and knowledgeable and cooperative. All accommodations suggested by Yugal were very nice and worth staying. To be very honest Yugal’s communication skill and behaviour impressed me so much that I will remain in touch with him for my future upcoming trips. Thoroughly enjoyed with family! Thank you for making it a memorable one, Yugul and Travel Triangle. All places were beautiful and worth seeing, the huge landscapes and Pangong lake particularly and their scenic beauties have stolen our hearts

We got a very good deal on our ladakh trip from Triptrail and I must say that the trip was organized very well. The hotels booked were very good with very good food. Special mention would be the Sangalyay hotel. The staff and all services were very good. Only hiccup was the hotel at Pangong lake due
to some miscommunication but still that was sorted out within no time by Yugal. He has been checking with me all throughout the trip. We were also very pleased with the driver provided. He took us all around places very comfortably and guided us about the places around. All in all all the arrangements have been very good. Would surely like to book our next vacation with Triptrail through Travel triangle. Thanks a lot for such a wonderful trip

Priya's 7 days trip to Ladakh

Trip was planned in a good way by Aaman . Just have couple of inputs on the trip...in leh we visited hall of fame. The ticket include light show as well, which happens at evening 7pm. But cab person denied to take us again and asked extra charge of 1000rs as it's not included in itenary. I believe t
his should be included and trip advisor should mention us about visiting again to see light show and extra charges. Hotels sanghilya palace was nice rest hotels are ok. In Nubra organic boutique room was ok and they have organic farming so u can enjoy home food. Just hotel is little inside. In pangong Himalayan cotton gives u horizontal view of pangong but it is at very hight so can't reach lake by walking. I didn't had much idea about pangong but other hotels/cottages near 3idiot movie site will be more good ( to reach lake by walking) bcz ultimately to click pics u hv to go to same place.

Thank you Travel Triangle /Trip Trail for meticulous and well planned trip for us at Leh Ladak. On arrival at airport, driver cum guide Mr. Nabu was waiting for us and helped us with luggage shifting and dropped off to our hotel promptly. We had rest day to get acclimatized to high altitude. Next d
ay he picked us up from our hotel, took us around leh, which included Hall of fame- Tribute to our soldiers , Gurudwara patthar Sahib and Magnetic hill. Later we drive to Zanskar valley and on the way back to spituk Monestry. Our guide cum driver was very helpful and including taking our snaps. On Day 3 after BF, we set off to Kardungla pass. The journey was superb with breathtaking views. We had a short stop over at Kardungla pass and time to play with snow and take some snaps. It’s was quite cold outside but we had fun. Drove further through mesmerizing scenic valley and mountain with few stopovers for photography and tea. Since most part of roads are under expansion and repair, it was a quite a tedious journey. After late lunch we visited the gigantic Budda statue at Diskit and had good time at Nubra valley with camel ride. After a long and tiring journey we reached our hotel at Hunder Nubra valley- Organic boutique inn. It’s quite a good hotel with excellent staffs. Night we had a great Buffet. Weather was very cold and room heating with conventional wood fire did give some temporary relief. Next day after breakfast we started off to Pangyoung lake and a beautiful scenery but very bad road due to repair work we had flat tyre on the way, but quickly replaced with Stepney and moved on. By evening we reached our hotel Grand Himalayan Stay at Merak. Finding this hotel was bit difficult as it’s new and no Clear name board. We found that Hotel is quite nice and being in a a remote village and extremely cold conditions, we were put to hardship as there a electricity failure for over 12 hrs. Hotel staff were courteous and tried their best to make our stay comfortable . At subzero temperature, frozen over head tanks, flush tank geyser doesn’t work….so imagine the plight. Lack of electricity adds to the woes. Despite all these, we were looking forward to spend time at the Pongyoung lake. In the morning we spent over 1 hr and had lot of pics taken. Lake was mostly frozen. From there we headed back to Leh, again with lot of photographs. Visited one more monastery and Rancho school . Returned by evening to Leh by evening and took rest. Through out our trip we never had any mountain sickness issue although we were equally well prepared with all emergency medicine and oxygen. Next day back to airport with lots a great memories and loads of pictures. Overall, it was a great trip, thanks to Trip trail, in particular Mr.Aman Sharma, and all others who took care is us. Good food at Nubra boutique hotel and pictures with snow at Kardungla pass
