Sakleshpur got its name from an event that took place between the 10th and 14th century. This town was ruled by Hoysalas who once found a broken Shivalinga which was named Sakleshwara. Since it was found here, the name Sakleshpur for the town got top votes from everyone. This hill station is a lesser-known wonder, located at an elevation of 950 m. It has a misty and foggy atmosphere and is surrounded by the lush Western Ghats.
