Satomi's 5 days trip to Sri Lanka

I used Travel Triangle because my brother who currently lives in India told me about it as he had used it before with great experience. Since there are so many tour companies and I did not know where to start this was very helpful. The travel agent had prompt response to my requests. The minor issue we had was the fact that the large amount of money we had to pay for the tour was only accepted by cash, not credit card. Many places in Sri Lanka (even some decent restaurants) do not take credit cards. My ATM card did not work when I try to withdrawal money from an ATM machine there although I have used it in so many different countries before without any issues. I strongly recommend you bring A LOT of cash to trips to Sri Lanka. I have traveled many countries with a little cash and credit cards as I do not feel comfortable carrying a lot of cash on me so this was something different and challenging. The hotels that the agent booked for us was good for the price but had some minor issues. (One hotel without any hair dryer; One hotel with ants-I ended up with some ant bites; one hotel with air conditioner not working very well). We went to Yala National Park during our trip. We would not recommend it as the park has not that many animals if that is what you are looking for. We could barely see one elephant and one bear, several cows, deer which we can see in our neighborhood in California/Hawaii. It is not worth the long drive although the park was pretty. One of my family members who has been to Safari in Kanya was very disappointed as Safari over there had a lot more animals compared to Yala. Overall, our experience with Travel Triangle and our agent were excellent. Climbing up to Sigiriya. The view from up there was awesome. Sigiriya is a must when you go to Sri Lanka.
