South Africa takes up the most amount of space in the country and is the largest country in the continent. It is ethnic and cultural diversity is a sight to behold and almost 9 recognizable languages are spoken in the country.
Made up of various Ports, South Africa also depends on its revenue generated from water-based tourism and business. Although the country is a fairly poor one the people are one of the most welcoming and kind-hearted people on the planet. Journey through the vast untamed lands on safaris and make the best of all the cruises that the country has to offer from its major Ports.

The Most Famous Cruises in South Africa

  • Wildlife Cruises: South Africa is one of the few countries which offer Wildlife Cruises. Atop the Zambezi Queen, this cruise offers visits to many national parks, including the infamous Serengeti National Park. The package varies from 3-16 Night journeys and has multiple stops at many ports across Africa. This cruise usually starts from Cape Town and Johannesburg and visits multiple ports over the duration of the cruise and many of the major national parks across the country. Embark on a thrilling journey and experience the aquatic as well as terrestrial wild.
  • Cruise from Cape Town to Manhattan: This 24 night will be the best 24 travel days of your life. Get pampered by the luxury that the liner Queen Mary 2 has to offer. Among the various facilities that the ship has to offer to have kennels onboard sounds the most unique making it a pet-friendly ship. Other facilities include spacious decks, minimal crowds, bar, restaurants, and all the basic amenities. Starting its journey from Cape Town and slowly making its way towards Manhattan, this cruise is described as an extravagant affair. It makes pit stops in Walvis Bay, Tenerife, Madeira (Funchal), and Southampton before finally reaching Manhattan.
  • Cruising the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean: There are many ships which do this cruise, but none compare to the luxurious experience that the Nautica provides. Boasting as having the best food any cruise has to offer, the staff and the crew are exceptionally friendly. For 14 nights travel along the southern coast of the country in luxury and style. The Nautica starts its journey from Cape Town and ends its journey where it began. Walvis Bay, Cape of Good Hope, Port Elizabeth, East London (South Africa), Durban, Richards Bay, and Maputo are the pit stops in this amazing and luxurious journey.
  • Mauritius Cruise: Starting at Durban, The Orchestra is the ship that you will be sailing on for the next 11 nights. The ship in question is in itself a symbol of luxury and sails during the month of December, November, and January. Mauritius is a dream holiday destination known for its clear turquoise waters, although the destination is a paradise on Earth. Many believe the cruise there is Luxurious in its own way. The ship boasts a holding capacity of over 20000 passengers and has rooms available for all. Swimming pools, open decks, basketball court, live music, a restaurant/bar are some of the luxury experiences available of this beast of a ship. Once you leave the muddy coasts of Durban, your journey to a paradise will begin with stops at Port Louis and La Possession.

The best time would be around the spring and autumn seasons when the waters are calm and hence lowering the risk.

Although South Africa is accessible via roads and waterways, the most convenient way to travel would be to take a flight down to the airport.

S's 5 days trip to South Africa

The team at TravelLykke have been very professional in their approach right through. They have been very patient and understanding of the requirements and accommodative to all kinds of doubts and queries and options too. Fairly transparent in the dealings and have a good set of on-ground contacts in S Africa who too have been professional and on time without delays and exceptions. A suggestion: there were some legs where we were informed we need to take Uber (to & fro Robben Island & Table Top Mountain). For the kind of spends done by us (Rs 3 Lakhs +) overall, it would have been helpful if these too could have been accommodated in the package. It is the nuisance value of having to book, wait etc. Also more minute detailing of the Full day Cape Peninsula tour could have been share earlier - we got it on landing from the local guide and it was very educative. Why not share this ahead of time? Some travel agencies give a backpack or travel kit (the amount of Rs 3 Lakhs is HUGE) with your branding. In this case it is singularly absent. Wonder why? We stayed in 3 hotels - Emerald Guest house in Johannesburg (Rating Poor to Good only); Kruger Park Adventure Lodge ( Excellent); Holiday Inn Express at Cape Town (Excellent).

The trip was very well organised and all our requirements were met. We had issues due to flight delays and we were late for one tour, our travel planner Mrs Prerna was very helpful and proactive to adjust the tours to accommodate everything. From last minute hotel booking to providing rental car , she was quick to respond and also regular reminders before trips to ensure smooth communication between us and South African operators. Would surely recommend their services The views with clouds sliding in all around the mountains and ocean at the cape point during the cape peninsula tour.

We had an amazing trip to South Africa. It is a beautiful country to visit with very hospitable people around. Everything went well without any hiccups. The hotels, cab drivers and other details were well planned by Nikhil from Besten/MK Holidays, special thanks to him. Some elements which can be improved were the visits planned during our stay at Knysna as they were quite some distance away from our hotel. Will definitely recommend Travel Triangle to others for planning their trips.
