One can board a train from Delhi to Gorakhpur from where they can take a jeep or a bus to the Sunauli border. Post that, another shared jeep or bus can be hailed to reach Kathmandu on the other side of the Bhairahawa border.
By road-
The most convenient way to reach Nepal is by road. One can take a direct bus to Nepal from India, which takes you to Kathmandu. A person needs a permit and has to pay a toll fee to cross borders between Nepal and India if one is on self-drive.
