Chennai to Kathmandu can be reached by connecting flights for the fastest commute. Chennai is located at the southern end of India, any road travel, though possible, is not recommended.

From Chennai International Airport, there are thrice a week Chennai to Kathmandu flights to Tribhuvan Airport. These flights mostly connect at Delhi but still cover the 1000+ km distance pretty fast. The quickest flight is operated by Jet Airways, and it takes 6 hours 30 minutes to make the commute.

By Air: Chennai to Kathmandu flights are available at affordable rates, and there are many of them for anyone looking options. However, they are mostly connecting flights, where most of them have layovers in different cities, in either Delhi or Mumbai. The journey itself is fastest with Air India, with the flight taking 5 hours and 40 minutes. The flights are the preferred method of transport, taking the least time and being the most comfortable.

By Road: Travelling from Chennai to Kathmandu by road is not an investment that makes sense. The two cities are located very far from each other at a distance of over 2656 kilometers. Traveling such a long distance takes a lot of time, making the journey 48 hours long, which comes to two days on the road, not including any stops made for refreshment or sleep.

By Train: There is no direct Chennai to Kathmandu train, as a railway does not exist as such between Nepal and India. There are options for those traveling by trains, however. They can travel to Raxaul in Bihar, which borders Siliguri, and avail buses or any other alternative forms of transport from there onwards to reach Kathmandu.

Every thing is well organised. Driver niranjan is very humble and helpful. Always on time. Hotels are good, clean and food is also good. Hotel shangrila nagarkot is spacious with a great view of the mountain and sunrise can be seen from the bed itself . Hotel lake paradise is overall good but all

electric sockets are non functional in both the rooms but extension board was arranged by the hotel staff which is great help. All the hotels are clean staff are helpful. Hotel Taleju in kathmandu is good. Car given to us is actually a chinese made electric van which they called a luxury van with no view of outside and poor suspension. It requires charging twice on route to Pokhara and Kathmandu. Power cut in charging station is frequent and long queue makes it a very impractical vehicle for tourists who visit for leisure. Driver tried his best to keep us comfortable during the journey. Owner of the agency get offended when I compared the Chinese van with Maruti eco. But actually the van is poor in suspension then eco and cant see anything outside. According to them if the seats are reclining it comes under luxury category.. actually its not their fault the agency already sent the pictures of the vehicle at the time of booking but I mistook it by its look with the luxury tourist van that are used in other South East Asian countries. These vehicles may be a good option only after the highway construction and is completed.

Hotels booked were unaware about accommodation to be provided. They tried to allot 3 rooms instead of 2 rooms with extra bed in one.Agency should be able to accept changes in itinerary. Road from Nagarkot to Lumbini was very bad.
