Sapa Tour Packages

Sapa Holiday Packages: rated 4.4/5 (based on 37 reviews) | Packages starting from ₹35,000/-

Sapa Holiday Packages

Sapa is a small hill station originally developed by the French in the year 1922. But today it is a major tourist center for its spectacular mountainous views with plunging valleys overlooking them.

Mists roll down often on the peaks but the local tribal community colors the atmosphere even on cloudy days. With the recent rise of commercialization, buildings are seemingly heightening in its numbers and that has considerably calibrated Sapa’s skyline.

But if you are planning for a Sapa tour, this article will let you know all the details for your trip.

How To Reach

By Road

Buses ply regularly from Hanoi in the early mornings or late evenings. It mostly takes a total time of 6 to 7 hours to reach Sapa.

Unlike trains, buses travel faster without any stops in Lao Cas. By a private car, it takes 5 hours to reach Sapa.

But motorbikes are quite of a risk if you have never ridden one as the wet paths are not suitable for motorcycles. You can hire xe om with a local driver to hang out in the town.

By Air

There is no such facility to fly to Sapa directly for the Sapa package as there are no direct air routes. So if you want to fly, you have to reach Hanoi airport. From there take a train or bus which will smoothly take you to Sapa.

By Train

There are many trains for tourists to Sapa. But they take much of your time for around 8 to 9 hours as it stops in Lao Cai. But it’s best to book tickets before long if you are traveling in the peak seasons.

So you will arrive at the Lao Cai railway station from where you may need to take shuttle buses to Sapa.

Best Time To Visit

The best time that you should choose for a Sapa tour package is in March or May and from between September to mid-December.

Around April till May, tribal people grow rice on the terraces. The view of the terraced fields looks mesmerizing from a distance. This time the weather remains dry.

But you are most likely to experience all the four major seasons during this time if you’re planning a Sapa tour. The mornings are cool as spring days and the evenings are cold.

I visited Vietnam in May/June-24 with the help of Travel Triangle and inturn S-Vietnam (a Vietnam based travel partner). It was a great experience with S-Vietnam. Michael was in constant touch with me from Day1 till the last day, for my various requirements and support needed. The itinerary, Hotels, places to see...etc were well researched and then suggested. They were quite flexible and open to customize the package as per my requirements and expectations. The entire trip was very smooth without any hiccups. I sincerely thank Michael and also Harvinder (Travel Triangle) for all the support and guidance. I strongly recommend S-Vietnam for your Vietnam trip. Halong Bay, Sapa and Danang

Srinivasa's 14 days trip to Vietnam

Recently I completed my 2 weeks trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. As I was travelling with my family of 11 members for this trip, I had opted for Private transfers and Private tour everywhere. From Travel Triangle, I received 3 Tour Agencies. 2 of those where in discussion with me while the 3rd Agency hardly was communicating with me. Among these 2 Agencies Michael from SVietnam Trips was the only one who was actively in contact with me and I ended up booking my trip with him. My Trip guide Harvinder from Travel Triangle reached out to me only during initial payment. Before and after that no follow up from Travel Triangle. Would like to take few names and express my feedback. Michael from SVietnam Trips: Right from the day tour agencies got allocated, Michael had been in contact with me. No matter how late it may get in the night, he would never forget to respond and tries closing out my queries. As my travel group was big with different age group and difference choice of places, I had to do lot of research on my own to handpick few places which are not in the common itinerary any agencies would provide. Michael was very co-operative and patient while accommodating all my changing needs and itineraries. Wherever he lacked knowledge he tried gathering info and suggested me on my itineraries. He ensured he would be available over the phone throughout my trip and he lived up to this expectation. When we visited Ha Noi, he had come to airport to greet us and also gave me a local SIM newly bought for me free of cost. On the next day as promised, he had visited our hotel and took me to a Currency Exchange place where he had got me very good rates and also helped me in getting Indian Dinner parcel in his own vehicle. On the last day of our Ha Noi stay he had come to a mall where we took a pit stop and helped us with shopping and guiding in the mall. Throughout our trip, every day in the evening he used to check with us on how our trip went and if any help needed. My family and I liked all of these gestures including his personal visit whenever we needed his help and showing that extra care which I hadn’t experienced from any other travel agencies I had traveled before. This is where he went an extra mile to ensure quality service assured by him is provided. Very impressive and would highly recommend him for your Tours. To say a few words about Tour Guides, we were lucky to have got very good tour guides in every place we traveled which I would recommend except for the guide in Ho Chi Minh City. Nak in Cambodia, Thuy in Sapa, Chung in Ha Noi and Linh in Da Nang & Hoi An were very friendly, happy going, informative and approachable. They made us feel very comfortable and ensured we had good time in our tour enjoying every place covered in the itinerary. Special Notes: -> Thuy in Sapa: My aunt and MIL were senior citizens who were finding it difficult to climb the stairs, Thuy took an extra step and special care to assist them everywhere while climbing and walking. My aunt felt blessed to have such a person holding her hands and helping her to walk everywhere slowly at her comfort. When one of us lost our mobile phone in a Cable car, he stood by us and helped co-ordinating with customer service and housekeeping until we got back our phone. -> Chung in Ha Noi: He was always smiling guy. Stayed with my aunt to take care of her and kept addressing her as ‘Mumma’ which made my aunt feel very touchy for his special care & attention. -> Linh in Da Nang & Hoi An: She was very joyful and cheerful. Once when we got late in the night after our day trip, she and her friend helped in booking pickup cab for us and followed up till we reached out hotel. The tour guide named Lucky in Ho Chi Minh City compared to others we felt was okayish. She wasn’t that informative and wasn’t much open to us. Example: In Cu Chi tunnel when we saw other guides stopping in each & every spot explaining for 5-10 min in detail, Lucky was just skipping explanation for those places and was asking us to see and understand the instruction board. We had to ask her on most of those spots which she skipped to specifically share some info as other guides where explaining few details. Overall we weren’t happy with Cu Chi Tunnel tour. Despite this place having a huge historical significance, the guide made it look very basic by giving very limited information. From Travel Triangle, I am not happy at all for their service. Apart from follow up for initial payment, I dint see any effort from them or their Trip guide to enquire whether my trip was started, how my trip was going on and whether my trip ended well or not. Except the system generated formality emails on payment and feedback, no communication from their team. Overall I would say we had a fabulous trip and very good experience with SVietnam Trips. All thanks to Michael for extending his care & support throughout our trip. If I have to take another trip, I would rather go directly to Michael from SVietnam Trips than any other agencies or even Travel Triangle.

The service provided by Bamboo Hut was excellent except in one or two cases. The cabs, bus, guides were in time and were superb . The food were good except in Sapa hotel where Lunch were provided for 2 days. Cruise in Halong Bay was good, which could have been better. However food provided in Cruise was excellent. Marble Mountain is accessible by LIFT, which facility was not provided by Bamboo Hut. We could not climb the steps because the steps were very high, hence we could not visit Tang Chon Cave. I hope Bamboo Hut will take care of these points for aged tourist.

We had a great trip for 7 days in Vietnam covering north to south. We booked through LVP travel. Thank you Ms. Alice for her overall good support. As like every trip this also having some pros and cons like below. Pros: 1) Everything was arranged properly. 2) itinerary was created as per our requirements. 3) All the airport pickup/drop off was on time with spacious car. Drivers were always present at gate holding names. 4) all day tour service agency was very good, pickup was on time from hotel for day tour. 5) All guides were English speaking, friendly, gentle, punctual. 6) Day tour lunch was very good with many varieties. 7) Good 3 star hotels with great English buffet breakfast. 8) Domestic flights booked by agent, timing was alligned with day sightseeing timing. 9) everything was on time hassle free. Without any worries. cons: 1)Back seat in limousine bus for long journey like Hanoi-> Sapa is not preferable. 2) if one day trip starts very early morning, then that day breakfast from hotel should be allowed to pack. 3) For 3 persons family, extra bed should be properly arranged, with strong bed. Which was proper except one day. It was a memorable trip for us. We enjoyed a lot and spend a happy time in Vietnam.

Rohit's 6 days trip to Vietnam

It was no vacation for three years because of COVID and we were dying to take a vacation break outside India. Since we only had like a week to decide and plan, we chose Vietnam as our destiny. We had earlier visited Bali with the help of Travel triangle. So we approached them this time again. It was super smooth. They even took care of our visa in such short time. We were assigned Mrs Tina locality of Vietnam who helped us plan our vacation. It was effortless- she paid attention to all our requests and made things happen as we wished. She was available on what’s app and cleared our queries promptly. She and her husband they even met us at Hanoi on our arrival day and took us to the railway station as we had a train to Sapa overnight. That was a sweet gesture. There were some small issues regarding check in at Sapa, but she resolved it quickly. When we couldn’t communicate with the locals, we would call her and take her help. Overall it was a good experience and had a great vacation.

Sophie from Bamboo Hat tours was helpful. Few things that did not go well was that : 1. Some of the locations like Bana hills was foggy and was not worth the time in December. This could have suggested to avoid. 2. If a list of places of self tour could be said and the timing to visit them and charges were explained earlier we would have planned properly for the places. Sapa and the trek was the best, Ninh Binh, Hanoi city tour on weekend.

Things To Do

Hiking/Trekking

If you choose to have longer trek you may have to opt for overnight home-stays with the local tribal families.

Regardless of the fact whether you take guides, tribal women will walk around you to assist you for a tip. Overnight stays, you will be busy watching the local’s dance, play music and get to learn about the textiles.

Enjoy the nightlife of Sapa

Sapa does not exhibit the busiest nightlife but you can still find some of the bars. These are the places, where people meet to sink in beer. You can be a part of this nightlife and play pool games.

The restaurants also serve beer or drinks in the evening. A handful of karaoke joints are where middle class Vietnamese regularly visit.

Explore the local villages of the tribal people

You can choose to visit the local tribal villages of Giang ta chai, La chai, Ban Ho and Ta Phin. The overnight stays are arranged for community-based hikes to the Hmong village of Sin Chai.

Enjoy Vietnamese meal

With a surprising range of food that is inspired by the French, you can enjoy some of the exceptional cuisines in Sapa. The Vietnamese bistro serves the best burgers, craft beer, charcuterie, and wine.

When you are planning to have home-stays for the longer treks, high-end options include local trouts steamed in a bamboo leaf, stir-fried Susu and traditional pork confit.

Go shopping Bac Ha Market

With the rural setting, you won’t find shopping malls or supermarkets in Sapa. The markets usually stock fresh food and other assortments.

But tourists can get some of the souvenirs from the local stalls that include faux-tribal stuff. But you have to go a long way with your bargaining skills to buy something at a reasonable price.
