By train-

Traveling to Nepal by train is a tad inconvenient since people have to take multiple routes including that of a train to reach the destination. One can board a train from Delhi to Gorakhpur from where they can take a jeep or a bus to the Sunauli border. Post that, another shared jeep or bus can be hailed to reach Kathmandu on the other side of the Bhairahawa border.

By road-

The most convenient way to reach Nepal is by road. One can take a direct bus to Nepal from India, which takes you to Kathmandu. A person needs a permit and has to pay a toll fee to cross borders between Nepal and India if one is on self-drive. Overall a very good experience but hotels in lumbini and katmandu could have been better. Pokhara and chitwan stay was satisfactory. Really enjoyed the trip. Pokhra trip and the darshan of Pashupatinath was memorable. Cable ride was awesome.

My travel was ok. The cab driver used to open the door during driving to spit due to tobaco consumption by him, which was not good. The travel agent couldn't provide me triple bedded room in India like Nepal. After argument he provided me 4 bedded room in Ayodhya but double bedded room in last day of travel in Varanasi. The price was ok and rest of the services are ok. The driver taken me to all places as agreed and polite in behavior. He was supportive. The hotel rooms cleanliness could have been better. Only one place was memorable that was Bojinee resort in Nepal Nepal Tour like Phewa lake, Mahendra cave, Gupteshwara, Bojinee resort, Sanga Mahadev and hanging bridge, Manakamana temple cable car, Pokhra trip, Bhaktapur Durbar, Pashupatinath, Ayodhya Ram Mandir, Kashi Vishwanath, Ganga Aarti etc. Mind blowing trip. Faced difficulty due to very bad road from Kathamandu to Pokhra.
