- Chitwan National Park: This is located around 120 km from Kathmandu, is known for the threatened Asian species ‘One-horned rhinoceros’ and ‘Royal Bengal tiger’ This is a very wide park and is also known for animals like leopard, rhesus monkey, bison, deer, etc and around 450 species of birds that reside here. They offer a wide range of safaris here; from elephant back riding, nature trails, a canoe trip or rating through the Jungle Rivers you can go all adventurous at this national park.
- Parsa Wildlife Reserve: This is a great place to spot exotic species of wildlife roaming freely in their natural habitat. Located near to the Chitwan National park, you can behold animals like elephant, tigers, leopard, sloth bears, blue bull, wild dogs, hyenas, etc in this wildlife reserve. It's not a very widespread park but is surrounded by lush green Sal trees and is also home to species of snakes and birds. The Most common birds found here are giant hornbill, peafowl, red jungle fowl along with those cobras and pythons are widely seen here. - Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve: This is another well-known reserve, located in the southwest part of Nepal, the greenery and the diversity of the park is very interesting for nature lovers, it has around 24 animal species and 350 bird species that make this park a popular site.
- Sagarmatha National Park: This park is situated at the highest height in the world, featuring the topmost peaks of Mount Everest, is a popular attraction for tourists. The rocky landscapes and valleys that are covered with snow are home to a variety of wildlife species, from 118 species of birds and 26 unique species of butterflies. If you are lucky you can even watch the snow leopard and red panda here, which are the threatened species around the world. You will be mesmerized by the views of the mountains from here; it's definitely a place worth a visit.
- Makalu Barun National Park: This park is located around the Arun river, and is close to the Nepal China border, it is not only an animal reserve which has around 440 species of birds and 75 species of animals but also a very huge collection of plants here, going up to 3000 flower plants, that’s quite a number isn’t it? You will be welcomed by an array of fragrant flowers growing all through the Park. The most common Himalayan species like deer, marmot weasel and serow are found here, you can spend hours here just exploring and relaxing around the lush green gardens.
