Victoria Park

Victoria Park was initially created to further develop on the plants and flowers grown in one of the Botanical Gardens. Tit was later named as “Victoria’ as a gift for Queen Victoria's 60th year anniversary. NOw, this park is one of the most popular places in Nuwara Eliya. You can visit this place with your family members as it is incredibly child-friendly. The park has colorful flowers and healthy plants that are pleasant and relaxing to the eye. Dehadu Kadulla

Dehadu Kadulla is one of the best historical places to visit in Nuwara Eliya. It can be traced back to the time of Prince Gamini(161 BC to 137 BC) who hid his sword in this very place. At that time Sri Lanka was divided into 3 parts, Maya, Pihiti and, Ruhunu and this was one of the doors that let a person transfer from Ruhunu to Maya and vice versa. So, this was used by the prince to not only hide his sword, but to also live and train with his soldiers in one of the villages. Tourists can visit this place as it is the mark of a very valiant and astounding ancient tale. Seetha Amman Kovil

Seetha Amman Kovil is a temple that forms a very big part of the mythology and history in Nuwara Eliya. This is the place where King Rawana had held Sita captive. Tourists can see a footprint that is rumoured to be Lord Hanuman’s foot mark when he had come to rescue Sita. there is also a small stream that flows right through this place which the locals believe Sita used for regular bathing purposes.
