Samuel Baker, the discoverer of Lake Albert and the explorer of the Nile founded the city called Little England in 1846. Due to the favorable climate, the country was a prime place for British civil servants to relax and enjoy activities such as deer hunting, fox hunting, polo, cricket and golf.
