Things To Do in Kanyakumari

Visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial

Swami Vivekananda, an esteemed Indian poet and philosopher, made a notable pilgrimage to Kanyakumari, where he spent three serene days meditating on a remarkable offshore rock. This picturesque location is said to be where Goddess Kanya Kumari conducted part of her sacred penance while elegantly balanced on one foot. In 1970, a touching memorial was built on the rock to celebrate the legacy of Swami Vivekananda, featuring a delicate carving of the Goddess’s foot in the stone. If you're interested in exploring the rich history of this captivating site, don't forget to include it in your list of must-see destinations in Kanyakumari!

Bathe At Triveni Sangam

Triveni Sangam is a truly special place where the oceans come together in a beautiful embrace. It's not just a spot; it's a revered site believed to hold powerful energies. Many people say that taking a dip in the waters can wash away all your sins and free you from the cycle of rebirth. Even if you're not looking to participate in the rituals, spending some time here is worthwhile—just to soak in the unique spirit of the place. Plus, visiting Kanyakumari wouldn't be complete without experiencing this amazing phenomenon. You'll be mesmerised as you watch the tides and weather create stunning distinctions in the shades of blue between the ocean waters.

Watch The Sunrise and Sunset

Watching the sunrises and sunsets over Kanyakumari’s shimmering horizon is genuinely one of the most beautiful experiences you can have in Tamil Nadu, offering a breathtaking feast for your eyes. Witnessing the sunrise alongside the magnificent Thiruvalluvar statue is nothing short of spectacular. And don't miss the magic of sunsets, especially on full moon nights, when you can marvel at both the sun rising and the full moon gracefully descending simultaneously. If you're looking for a stunning vantage point, consider visiting Murugan Kundram on a nearby hill for a fantastic panoramic view of sunrise and sunset!

See The Thiruvalluvar Statue

Thiruvalluvar is a magnificent statue dedicated to the renowned Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar. Perched gracefully on a smaller rock by the beautiful coast of Kanyakumari, this statue invites tourists to explore its base. If you’re up for a bit of adventure, climbing the stairs to its feet rewards you with breathtaking views that are simply unforgettable!

Visit The Stunning Courtallam Falls

Nestled in the heart of a charming Panchayat town within the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, the Courtallam falls are a true gem of the state! Known for their impressive size and thrilling cascades, they offer the perfect spot for anyone eager to enjoy a refreshing shower surrounded by nature's beauty. A trip here is one of the most exciting adventures in Kanyakumari! With breathtaking mountains and lush greenery, this place will uplift any nature lover's spirit. And don’t miss the uniquely shaped, honeycomb-like rock formations that add to the enchanting scene behind the falls!

Visit Bharat Mata Temple

One of the wonderful things you can do in Kanyakumari in a single day is to visit the Bharat Mata Temple, a beautiful homage to Mother India. Spanning an impressive 12,000 square feet, this temple features a stunning 12-foot-tall statue of Swami Vivekananda, along with various artwork and statues that celebrate the spirit of motherhood. On the temple grounds, you'll also find a Ramayana Mandir that brings the tale of Valmiki’s Ramayana to life through exquisite craftsmanship. There, you can see 108 intricately carved wooden panels, each telling a part of the story with remarkable detail.

Visit The Historical Vattakottai Fort

Vattakottai Fort, spanning 3.5 acres, is a must-see gem in Kanyakumari! Nestled along the stunning Bay of Bengal coast, it enhances the beauty of Tamil Nadu. One side treats visitors to breathtaking panoramic sea views, while the other displays the majestic Western Ghats. Recently, the Indian Archaeological Department has recognised it as a threatened site, but don’t worry! The Administration is working hard to revamp the fort, ensuring its preservation while warmly welcoming the many tourists who visit each day.

Tapas's 5 days trip to Kanyakumari

We recently had a wonderful trip to Mysore and Coorg, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. We were fortunate to explore a variety of scenic locations, each more breathtaking than the last, and we indulged in delicious local cuisine that gave us a true taste of the region's flavors. A big part of our enjoyable experience was thanks to our trip driver, Sunil, who was extremely professional throughout the journey. He ensured we covered all the places listed in the itinerary and even shared interesting insights about the destinations. His dedication and pleasant demeanor added great value to our trip. The resort we stayed at was another highlight of our vacation. Nestled amidst the serene woods, it offered stunning views that made for a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The food served at the resort was equally delightful, offering a wide range of flavors that satisfied our palate. However, while the trip itself was fantastic, I want to share some feedback regarding the booking experience. Our travel agent, Kishan from Bookitforgetit, was very proactive and responsive before we booked the trip. Unfortunately, after the booking was finalized, I found myself repeatedly following up for crucial details such as the hotel voucher, payment confirmations, and driver information. This lack of consistent communication and post-booking support was a bit disappointing. My humble request to Travel Triangle is to ensure that better customer service is provided after the booking process is complete. It’s crucial to maintain the same level of attentiveness throughout the entire experience. While the trip itself was great, the post-booking service left room for improvement. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for travelers like us.

Our family had a memorable trip to Madurai and Rameshwaram. Kiran was very helpful with designing our itinerary. Her prompt response to my requirements is greatly appreciated. Whilst we were happy with the customer service we received, the hotels chosen as part of the booking werent too comfortable. Perhaps, better choice hotels may need to be made available to customers to choose from. Abdul kalam house, meenakshi temple, ramanathaswamy temple, and Dhanushkodi
