By Air
If you are in India and wondering how to reach Iceland, air travel is your best and only option, due to Iceland being quite away from India. Depending on where in India you are departing from, the distance that a flight would cover is sure to be at least 7500 km, with a total duration of around 15 hours. The aerial distance from Delhi to Reykjavík is 7596.1 km. The Keflavík International Airport will most likely be your destination, located in the capital city of Reykjavík. One can find many India to Iceland flights. Flights from airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad will take you to it, but there are no non-stop flights connecting this airport to India. The stops usually occur in nearby cities on the European mainland, such as London, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and others, usually involving a layover of around 4 to 5 hours. Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air India, British Airways and Icelandair are some of the flight providers that ply on this route. Once you have actually arrived in Iceland, the country’s robust air transport network will also prove to be the most convenient way to get around.
By Train
There is no railway connectivity between India and Iceland, so this is not an option for those looking for help regarding how to reach Iceland by train. Furthermore, the harsh terrain of the country rules out the possibility of traveling through a railway network.
By Road
A road trip to Iceland, either with your own car, a bus or a taxi is not a feasible solution, since Iceland is an island in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. If you wish to get from place to place in Iceland itself, however, road travel is a reliable bet.
