The cemetery which is located on the left side of the church gives the visitors with the feeling of being in a different world. The cemetery has many statues, tombs, crosses and flowers which adores the place and contribute to the great feeling one gets being here. This is a cemetery that is still in use and so it has both the ancient tombs and also the very new ones. It is very easy for one to find how to reach Holy Gates.

Reach Holy Gates by Walk

The holy gates are located just outside Florence city walks. It needs some amount of planning from the side of the travelers for making the trip much easier. If one is looking forward to hiking and enjoying the panoramic view of the Florence during the walk to the Holy Gates then it is the most engaging thing for anyone. Walk till Piazzale Michelangelo. There are several paths from this spot which include Piazzetta of San Miniato or behind Torre di San Nicolo. Once the traveler reaches the terrace, climb the rest of the steps to reach the top of Via Delle Porte Sante for arriving at the church’s door.


If the traveler has a car or bike they just need to follow the map or signs to Piazzale Michelangelo and then can find parking on the terrace or at the church’s front. The parking is paid here.

The ATAF city bus numbers 12 or 13 are the ones, which can take one to Piazzale and walk to Holy Gate.
