    Best Time To Visit Rameshwaram

Plan your trip during best season to experience the best of this stunning destination

Located on Pamban Island in the Gulf of Mannar, off the coast of Tamil Nadu, Rameshwaram is one of the most sacred places in India.

The four big pilgrimage sites, the Char Dhams, are scattered in four different directions. Rameshwaram is the holy Dham in South India. Hindu devotees visit from India and abroad to see the marvellous Ramanathaswamy Temple and Agni Teertham. The best time to visit Rameshwaram is in winter, from November to February. The shoulder months - October, March, and April—are easygoing. Rameshwaram has a tropical climate located on an island close to the equator. This means the temperatures barely fluctuate, and the humidity is often oppressive and unbearable. For visitors unaccustomed to high levels of moisture, visiting Rameshwaram anytime outside the winter season might not be a good idea. Otherwise, the weather is quite pleasant and rarely gets hotter than 32 degrees Celsius. October and November are generally the wettest months. It doesn’t rain too frequently the rest of the year, but when it rains, it pours!

    Summer Season in Rameshwaram

Summer is the off-season in Rameshwaram. The months of March to July are hot, and with the increased humidity, the weather becomes muggy. The sun is merciless and shines on the island 12 hours a day. Sightseeing can become difficult, and excessive sweating can easily dehydrate you. Even sea-bathing and beach hopping are quite challenging due to the relentless heat. It is not the best time to visit Rameshwaram. However, for those planning a trip here during the summers, the lowered hotel rates and nearly empty public spots are something to look forward to.

    Monsoon Season in Rameshwaram

The monsoon season in Rameshwaram, which lasts from July to October, is more pleasant than summer. However, roaming about amid torrential downpours can be challenging. Even if Rameshwaram's temperature remains pleasant throughout the monsoon season, the weather's unpredictability is worth considering. Though monsoon season is not the best weather to visit Rameshwaram, it is not the worst time to travel either. One can expect lesser crowds at the temples and tourist destinations, as well as some discounts and special packages from hotels.

    Winter Season in Rameshwaram

Winter in Rameshwaram lasts from October to February and is also the peak season for visiting the city. The temperature during these months drops a couple of degrees, ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, while the humidity levels drop significantly. This rare, dry, non-humid weather is a breath of fresh air that most tourists seek as the best time to visit Rameshwaram. Cold and soothing winds blow during this season, and you can participate in many outdoor activities. In December, Rameshwaram also hosts the festival of Arudra Darshanam, which celebrates an aspect of Lord Shiva. This is said to be one of the most celebrated festivals in Rameshwaram.

Nikhilngoythale's 5 days trip to Rameshwaram

The trip was good but could have been better or best if the hotel and points as per itternary for coorg could have been covered. The stay at ooty was very good and 70% of points as per itternary were covered. But as the stay in coorg was very unhigenic and location was very far which made driver to skip all the points in coorg except elephant camp and coffee plantation. The most important point is there was not coordination between All India Holiday and the travel agency about the no of day stay in ooty & coorg also the trip itternary was also not available with driver which made troublesome for me to convince him about which point he was about to cover.
