How to Reach Apharwat Peak in Gulmarg

The gondola rides are divided into two phases. You need to take board one of the yellow gondola cubicles to get transported from the base to phase 1. Once you are done with that, you can proceed to board the red gondola cubicle to get carried straight to the Apharwat peak.

Once up top, the snow covered summit of Apharwat peak will welcome you with its icy chilly wind. Be sure to dress warm and appropriately to stay cozy. Their might also be some oxygen scarcity, so be cautious to breathe easy.

After you get down from the phase 2 gondolas, there are human sledges to take you for a ride if you wish to go higher up. Once you descend the sledges, here is where the skiing activity starts. Beyond this point, the guides discourage you to proceed since the military area begins and permission is not granted.

If you are too lazy to walk from the car park to the gondola stations, you can hire a pony to transport you till there. The transportation from the very base to the peak of Apharwat is well managed and you will not have to stress over it. Just enjoy the scenery and take-in the beauty of nature as much as you can, when there. The gondola rides gives you magnificent view, especially during winters when all you can see is white. The gondola rides are a joy ride in itself since the cable cars go slow and high up in the sky to transport you from one point to another smoothly and swiftly.
