How to Reach Spots for Shopping in Colombo

How to reach shopping in Colombo is really a loaded question. There is no one correct answer to it. The entire route depends completely on personal preferences of the shopper. The best thing about Colombo is that each location has a variety of shopping destinations and each shopping destination has its own specialties. For a complete experience, to start with, one might go to Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct. The closest airport is Bandaranaike International Airport. From there, Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct is a one-hour drive away via E03 Highway. Colombo Harbor is closer still – just a thirteen-minute drive away along Colombo Port Main Road and closer still from Fort Railway Station – just twelve minutes on foot. From here, how to reach shopping is no longer quite as vexing.

Once Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct is reached, how to reach shopping is very easy to answer. From here, continuing south leads to one stellar shopping and window shopping destination after the other. Have unlimited fun shopping at Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct itself and kick things off with a sumptuous meal at Ministry of Crab. Moving southward, the closest spots are Jewel Qudsi, LUV SL Mall, and then Liberty Plaza. From Liberty Plaza, the travelers have a choice between further south and moving east. East leads to Lakpahana Handcraft, Aashkii, House of Fashions, Cotton Collection, and Paradise Road – all excellent shopping stops for clothing. So, from Liberty Plaza onwards, the question of how to reach shopping is rendered moot.

Continuing southwards from Liberty Plaza leads to more brilliant shopping destinations. So, Liberty Plaza is a central place of shopping in Colombo. This removes most hassles with how to reach shopping in Colombo. Going south leads to Noritake Lanka Porcelain Showroom, Colombo Jewelry Stores, Barefoot, Majestic City, Romafour, and Midnightdivas. These are all specialized stores. The best way to roam the city at close quarters for shopping is to take buses or hire a Tuk-Tuk for the day. Taking a cab around Colombo for shopping might be a bit too expensive. Trains, on the other hand, are perfectly cheap but are usually very crowded. With the proper know-how, how to reach shopping destinations in Colombo is hardly a bother. Buses ply in and out of the city very frequently and can be a good method of transport as well.

Shrikant's 8 days trip to Colombo

Our vacation to Srilanka was coordinated by Madhu of Steeple Tours. We returned yesterday evening after one week excellent holiday in Sri Lanka. Thank you very much Madhu for all your help and assistance. Our entire trip was very nicely arranged. Thought of sharing few points. 1. All hotels were very good. Very well located and very cosy. 2. Car arrangement was superb. Driver Pasindu is a wonderful person and was very helpful and courteous. Please convey my special thanks to him. 3. Hotel at Bentota and Colombo were exceptionally good and excellent location ... 4. Thank you for informing all hotels about our vegetarian preference. We did not have any issues.

Charan's 7 days trip to Colombo

We have been TravelTriangeling since last 4 trips abroad. That's because of its vast network of service providers. Srilanka was planned 3 yrs back, but the economic crises there held us from moving on. It happened again and we do carry great memories from this trip. The agency Romano Lanka and its coordinator Mrs Minasha was were very helpful. Though, we gave them though time planning and re-planning again and again,.she didn't budge and planned well. My suggestion to future travellers. Never hold back from tasting authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, they are always best available in very local and not so fancy restaurants. Our village safari was where we tasted the best food. Thanks to the old ladies there for their expertise. It would be very convenient if the travel planners include the entry fees for every visiting places, each and every visiting places mandatorily charge entry fees. Paying every time feels very costly. The season we visited was pre monsoon, but thank god it didn't effect our trip. Thanks to TT and Minasha Cultural dance at Kandy was hair raising. Spice garden, Cave temple, Sigaria rock, Sacred tooth relic and the beaches were just awesome and enchanted.

The overall experiences are very good and heart warming. Thank you Travel Triangle and Romanolanka for the awesome trip planned. Romanolanka executive Ms. Minoshaa is very helpful & patiently curated my trip plan as per my need and budget. She also answered to all our doubts and stay connected with us through out the journey. Our trip guide Kasun Maurya is also very helpful and gentle person, he is a guide and great photographer which took a lot of good pictures of us throughout the journey.

Vinayak's 8 days trip to Colombo

We group of 12 friends and family visited Srilanka through Yalla Travel where Mr Fazan helped a lot and made our vacation wonderful. We got personalized vacation plan , got very clean bus with skilled English speaking driver and a tour guide. Overall everyone of us is happy with Yalla Travel and services offered. During the safari - Local vendor messed up the plan ( this could have been better if trusted vendors communicated in advance time)
