One of the largest earthen dams in the world and the largest in the country, Banasura Dam is the pride of Wayanad. For tourists and travelers, it is important to know how to reach Banasura Dam in Wayanad. The closest airport to the dam is Calicut, located about sixty-five kilometers away from Wayanad. On reaching the airport, local cabs ply straight up to Wayanad. But flights are highly subject to availability and budget, especially in peak tourist season. It is essential to know how to reach Banasura Dam in Wayanad by other methods as well.

One of the cheapest solutions from nearby cities on how to reach Banasura Dam in Wayanad is by road. Smooth roads provide unchecked access to Wayanad from different locations in Kerala and Karnataka. Travelers can avail KSRTC buses that ply up to Kozhikode. These buses are set at frequent intervals and are available from nearby cities like Bangalore, Mysore, Kochi, Chennai, and Trivandrum. Direct buses to Wayanadcan also be taken if the destination is Wayanad directly without any detours.

How to reach Banasura Dam in Wayanad by rail is probably easiest to answer. With criss crossing railway networks built all across the country, there are a number of trains available to Kozhikode, which is the nearest railway station to Wayanad. There are no direct rail lines to Wayanad as such and Kozhikode is the best stop when traveling by train. From Kozhikode, buses and cabs are available that go straight up to Wayanad. The distance from Kozhikode to Wayanad is a little over a hundred and ten kilometers. Taking NH766 is a shorter route and the total journey of eighty-six kilometers takes roughly two and a half hours.

Once settled into the hotel at Wayanad, Banasura Dam is not really far away. The best solution on how to reach Banasura Dam from Wayanad is to take a cab ride of less than an hour via Chunakkara Millmukku Road and Kambalakkad - Padinjarethara Road. An alternate route is via SH54 which takes a few minutes longer.

    Hi Team, As you this wasn't my 1st trip with you guys. Though booking was hassle free was surprised to after service, moreover your App was so pathetic which I had complained also, inspite of install & uninstall multiple times , I had login and due payment issues. No transparency on cost due to w
    hich I eventually paid on higher payment instead of what it was promised to be, refund for the same pending. Had mixed opinion on overall journey 1) Driver Nice and very friendly guy and always promot on his duty, full 5star for him. 2) Hotel - Lake View munnar * Property was good with view point and staffs etc. But drawbacks were , It's 3 Star hotel rather 4 star. I had face Hot water issue for all days, Team used to attend complaint but didn't get resolved . Food for one night was so bad and it lacks with other amenities to be called a 4Star. 3) Boat house It was fantastic, nice crew team, Good food & Hospitality. It didn't had hot water facilities As I was carrying my infant , but overall it was a happy stay. 4) Support from Travel agent / Travel triangle representative Totally below par to my expectations, As eveytime I need to do too many follow ups, Still I didn't get my refund amount on excess money paid. House boat stay and Villa Property of hotel.
