About Hanoi Tourism

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and also the second largest city in the country, after Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam.

Located on the banks of the famous Red River, Hanoi has seen its share of historical events and made its contribution to them.

History of Hanoi:

Over the years, the importance of the city in Vietnam’s administration has peaked and trenched dramatically. From 1010 AD to 1802 AD, Hanoi was the most important political centre of the country. But when the Nguyen Dynasty spread its empire all over Vietnam, their ancient capital Hue took over the limelight.

However, once again during the French colonization of Indochina, the city rose to prominence and has stayed so till date. When the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was formed, prime minister Ho Chi Minh decided to make Hanoi the capital of the country.

Over the next few decades, it grew exponentially in terms of economy, resulting Hanoi tourism as the major contributor in the growth of the nation.

Hanoi tourism is a dynamic combination of natural beauty, historical significance and the general urban fabric of the city. The most visited monument of the city has to be Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
