Cherai beach is located on on the north side of Vypeen island and is cradled in the lap of a picturesque natural panorama. Since the dolphins are a little distance from the main beach, tourists will have to take a boat to get there. Cherai beach is 22 kms from the Cochin International airport and about 26 kms from Ernakulam railway station, both of which are the nearest hubs of transport welcoming visitors into the area. Vypeen island is now thankfully connected by road and as such, it is possible for tourists to take cabs/autos right to Cherai beach itself. The option to reach Vypeen by boat/ferry is also available with ferries going often from Ernakulam High Court jetty as well as the Main boat jetty to Vypeen. From the Vypeen jetty, getting to Cherai by road will take roughly 40 minutes and there are buses, as well as smaller transport options available. Had a great experience and very good trip. Everything booked and planned as per the final itinerary. Our drive was very good and humble but Kerala being a more of wild natural place so he could have been more adventurous. Saying this bcos we wanted to go to Top Station in munaar to see sunset or su

nrise and hotel staff and other drivers suggested that it’s very safe route but our driver told it’s dangerous bcos of elephant presence on the route and he won’t go and so we have to drop that location. Also driver should be more enthusiastic and suggest good shopping (spices etc) and other hidden gems rather he was more interested in taking us to shopping and activities where I think the commission was arranged. But other than this he covered all the places in itinerary and was very polite through out the trip. Had a great trip and lot of memories.
