Cherai beach is 22 kms from the Cochin International airport and about 26 kms from Ernakulam railway station, both of which are the nearest hubs of transport welcoming visitors into the area. Vypeen island is now thankfully connected by road and as such, it is possible for tourists to take cabs/autos right to Cherai beach itself. The option to reach Vypeen by boat/ferry is also available with ferries going often from Ernakulam High Court jetty as well as the Main boat jetty to Vypeen. From the Vypeen jetty, getting to Cherai by road will take roughly 40 minutes and there are buses, as well as smaller transport options available.
