How to Reach?

Getting to most parts of Asia is pretty simple- Major hubs like Singapore, India, Dubai, Seoul, Japan, and China are accessible with direct flights from around the world. If you’re flying from India, you can fly out of airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. There are plenty of options for direct and budget flights.

Getting Around

Local flights and transport are affordable too- flights, auto-rickshaw, and easy metros. Whether you’re hopping islands in Indonesia or exploring markets in New Delhi, if planned smartly, you will not burn a hole in your pocket.

Best Time to Visit

Asia is a huge continent- you will find good weather almost everywhere all year round, depending on where you are headed and what travel plans you wish to achieve.

Winter (November to February) is an ideal time to visit Dubai, Thailand, and Vietnam for sun and white sandy beaches, or head to the snow-covered mountains in Himachal Pradesh to witness panoramic views. Spring (March to May) Cherry Blossoms in Japan and South Korea, plus if you want to trek, head to Nepal or Vietnam. Monsoon (June to August) is a Great Time to visit, as Places are primarily green, fresh, and budget-friendly during these months. Consider going to Bali, Kerala, or Cambodia. Autumn(September to October) to experience scenic views and fewer crowds. Visit Bhutan, Japan, the UAE, Nepal, or China.

Things to Do

1. Night Markets in Taiwan - Dive deeper into the Taiwanese culture, which typically opens after sunset. Have hot dumplings and bubble tea while exploring the rich culture.

2. Boat around in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam - Explore hidden lagoons, caves and floating villages on a bamboo boat or a traditional junk boat in the quiet waters of Vietnam.

3. Sip Matcha in Kyoto - To explore Japanese culture, wander through age-old tea houses and bamboo forests and drink matcha.

4. Visit Bhutan’s Monasteries- Get a glimpse of the Buddhist culture and visit Bhutan’s cliffside monasteries, with no Wi-Fi and just panoramic views and peace.

Visa and Immigration

Visa and Immigration Requirements for Asia depend on where you’re going - no one visa can fit all, like Europe’s Schengen visa. But, countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Malaysia offer quick e-visas and sometimes even a visa on arrival for Indian and International travellers. While some countries, such as South Korea and Japan, require pre-approved visas, most Asian countries are generally travel-friendly and have straightforward processes.

Culture and Lifestyle

Language- Asia is a vast continent, and various languages are spoken. English is widely spoken across many tourist destinations, but learning basic phrases such as “hello” and “thank you” can go a long way.

Attire - Most Asian countries are relaxed, but in temples, rural towns, and mosques, dressing modestly is considered a sign of respect. Pack a shawl or a cover-up if you plan to temple-hop.

Cuisine - Asia’s food is well known across the world, and every region has their flavour. Here are a few dishes that you can try-

For authentic Pad Thai, coconut curry, and mango sticky rice, plan a trip to Thailand and explore the street foods in Chatuchak Market. Try authentic ramen and sushi in Osaka, Japan. To try local flavours of New Delhi, head to Karim’s for Butter Chicken.

Shopping

What to Shop Shopping in Asia is a mix of chaos and charm; there is an array of items from handicraft souvenirs, silk scarves, to street fashion, skincare, spices, accessories and much more. From luxury malls to vibrant markets, there is something for every kind of shopper. Where to shop Head to Myeongdong in Seoul for skincare, Dilli Haat in Delhi for all things Indian, Harajuku in Tokyo for some edgy fits, Bangkok for random gems, and the Ubud market in Bali for home decor.

What to Pack for Asia?

Asian countries tend to be humid, so it's best to carry clothes that are breathable and lightweight. Always carry something modest if going to a religious place. Carry a power adapter and a portable charger. Have the local currency in small notes, as markets and shops prefer cash. Some areas can be confusing; download offline maps.

Tips

Not every country in Asia drinks tap water; instead, they often carry water bottles. Chewing gum is banned in some countries; if you’re caught, you’ll have to pay a fine. Local SIMs are inexpensive and readily available; make sure to purchase one upon arrival. Public transport is the most convenient and cost-effective way to travel. Respect local cultures and traditions; a little goes a long way.

The most visited tourist attractions of Asia are Chiang Mai in Thailand, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Penang in Malaysia, Malaysian Borneo, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Delhi in India, Beijing in China, Bali in Indonesia, Tokyo in Japan, Ho Chi Minh City, Kyoto, Shanghai, Singapore, Hanoi, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and many more.

How to Reach Asia

Read about the best & quickest routes to save time & money, as suggested by our travelers

By Air

You can easily get flights for Asia Travel. Connecting flights are also available if a direct flight is not available for a particular destination. Major flights that are operational from India to Asia are AirAsia, Jet Airways, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, and Air India. Some of the busiest airports of Asia are Indira Gandhi International Airport, Dubai International Airport, Hongkong International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, and many other.

By Train

Some of the airports and the main cities are well connected via trains. Like in Singapore you can take an MRT train from Changi Airport, and reach wherever you want by interchanging the train. This mode of transportation is very cost effective. Similarly, you can take local trains in Bangkok from airport to reach the main city. The Airport Rail Link City Line is one such route. Dubai metro is another example that connects the Dubai International Airport with the main city.

By Road

Another option to enter the main city from the airport is via metered taxis which will drop you to the desired location, and will charge you as per the meter reading. You will get these taxis in almost every country of Asia. Shuttle is also a good option to go for if you are on a budget. For example, you can get the Changi airport shuttle which can drop you at some of the major hotels in Singapore while you can choose to travel in an airport bus when in Hongkong.
