Temples in England

Hinduism has been part and parcel of England from the early 19th century. England has over 150 temples all over the country.  The Hindu temple in Neasden is the largest Hindu temple in Europe. Other temples include the Bhaktivedanta Manor Temple, the Balaji Temple in Birmingham, the Vishwa Hindu Mandir in Southall, and the Murugan Temple in Manor Park and there are six Shri Swaminarayan Temples in different areas of London.

Sikhism reached England with the arrival of Maharaj Duleep Singh in the 1800s. Over the years the Sikhs have made England their home and the country boasts of over 352 Gurudwaras. Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall, London is the largest Sikh temple outside India. Hindu and Sikh temples are now a part of the English society as any of their different churches.
