Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur (Rajasthan)

Mehrangarh Fort History
One year after the accession of Rao Jodha – the 15th Rathore ruler – the Mehrangarh fort was built to establish a new capital of Marwar Kingdom. Before Jodhpur, The old fort at Mandore was the capital of the Marwar rulers. The biggest attraction in Jodhpur, this magnificent fort is hard to miss as it is situated on a high hill and is spread over 5 kilometres. Its walls are up to 36 metres in height and 21 metres in width, making it one of the most beautiful forts in Rajasthan.
