Religious in Sikkim

Seek divine intervention in the spiritual landscapes of Sikkim where you will find a variety of monasteries and sacred sites. One of the most popular monasteries you must explore is the Buddhist monastery Rumtek, that is located near the capital Gangtok. You will get to enjoy the peace and mental solitude of this monastery that is filled with a plethora of metal statues, gem-studded cenotaphs and historical artifacts.

Other popular monasteries you must pay a visit to include the ancient Pemayangtse Monastery, the Enchey Monastery, Phensang Monastery and the Phodang Monastery. Most Buddhist pilgrims pay a visit to the Guru Padmasambhava Statue in Samdruptse Hill, that is considered one of the most sacred sites here.

You can also explore Hindu pilgrimage sites like the Solophok Chardham complex that has four temples; twelve replicas of Jyotirlingas and a giant statue of Lord Shiva. The Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple is also a sight to behold, especially during the Bala Chaturdesi Festival in November and December.

There are also some pretty and ancient churches here like the Hope City Church, St. Thomas Church, the Sacred Heart Church and the St.Mary Roman Catholic Church. There also a few mosques like the Anjuman Islam Mosque and Barelwi Jama Masjid as well as Gurudwaras like Sarva Dharma Sthal, Nanak Lama Chungthang, and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir.
