How to Reach Sikkim from Delhi

By Air

Sikkim does not have its own airport and if you plan on taking a flight from Delhi, you will have to travel to the nearest airport, Bagdogra in North Bengal. This is about 124 kilometers from Gangtok and it will take you about 5 hours to travel from the airport to the city. You can also travel by the Helicopter service from Bagdogra to Gangtok.

By Rail

If you are traveling by train from Delhi to Sikkim, you will have to travel to the nearest railway stations Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri. This is because Sikkim does not have its own station. You can easily get a cab or taxi from these stations to Gangtok and it generally costs around Rs 1500/-. You can also take a jeep to Gangtok on sharing basis that will cost you around Rs 120/- per person.

By Road

If you want to travel to this Northeastern Himalayan kingdom by road, there are regular buses you can travel by from Delhi to Sikkim run by the Sikkim Nationalized Transport. You can easily get a cab or shared taxi from the bus stop to Gangtok or any part of Sikkim.
