How can a tourist reach Leh?

Ideally, there are three ways through which one can reach Ladakh-

      1. A flight from Delhi to Leh via major airlines like Jet Airways, GoAir and Air India
      2. One could also reach Manali by flight or road and take a 2 day road journey (474 kilometers) from Manali to Leh via Keylong with a night stopover in Sarchu.
      3. There's also another road from Srinagar to Leh which will take 2 days (434 kilometers) with a night halt at Kargil.

All the roads remain open from May to October.

What is the best time for a road trip from Srinagar to Leh?

The best time for a road trip from Srinagar to Leh starts from April till mid-May. At this time of the year tourists from all over the world visit the destination. Shantanuk's 8 days trip to Ladakh

Overall trip arrangements were good with some uncertainty which should have been intimated and handled better by tour agent. Hitels: I'm mostly happy with hotel selection throughout the trip in Leh, Nubra & Pangong except Kargil. Kargil Heights location, accomodation, food is not upto the mark. Cab & Driver: I'm mostly happy with both drivers. They were very friendly, helpful and moreover reliable throughout. My 1st cab Xylo condition wasn't good. We had to deal with risks like door lock, punctures etc. I was missing the guide in driver though unless I keep asking questions. Usually they seem to be just driver who knows the routes and not a guide who can suggest or proactively share some information. Travel Agent: Shyam from Amazing Tours & Travel was always reachable and connected to me whenever required right from planning, execution and end of the trip. He got my 2nd cab arranged for Kargil trip without my intervention. My only ask is for the Travel Agent is to recommend client for alternative arrangements for return flight based on time/ mode of the travel as the weather conditions were really uncertain. I had to cancel my return ticket from Srinagar to Bangalore as we had to cancel the Srinagar trip as the Zojila pass was closed due to snow. I had to arrange flight ticket again from Leh to Bangalore. I didn't get any refund for Srinagar hotels and Shikara though. I expected Travel agent to ensure refundable accommodations in case of unforeseen situations. Otherwise why someone should go for a travel agent when nowadays most of the travel portals are providing free cancellation of hotels upto checkin or 24 hours mostly with same or lesser price as I checked. Hotel prices from travel agent were also lil higher side without any cancellation option as I had to go for one day accomodation seperately in Leh due to plan change I had to enquire with hotel directly and found the price differences. Snow capped Khardungla Pass & Changla Pass. Journey from Leh to Kargil along Indus River.

Hotel vouchers were not provided and I was denied check in at two locations. Despite several request regarding the issues faced by previous traveller with Pangong, we were not provided with the hotel vouchers. And as expected camp in Pangong denied our check in. I was left stranded at 14000 feet height alongwith my senior citizen parents. ALso to add to my agony, when this was raised with travel triangle team, they didnt take any action. Also one of their senior partners had the audacity to say that I have travelled to Ladakh 15 times and I have lifted bodies from there, I know what happens in Pangong and it is quite natural. He further suggested that I should have given atleast two hours to the service provider to arrange for another accommodation

Initially the tempo from Chandigarh to Manali was bad! I understand that because of last mins issues on the route we had to get another tempo which was bad However, the next tempo from Manali to Leh - the driver was rude and not at all friendly. He drove in a way where all 10 people in the tempo were scared. Very rash driving. He spoke very bad with us and argued all the time. We were on a family trip including women where he must understand to stop for basic nature calls. He was very hesitant and he was rude with all of us along the way to Leh. Destination hotel Leh fort view here he had to drop us , he said we usually only drop at the bus stand we don't drop at hotel. Pathetic service by the tempo driver. Would never ever book any trip if this is the driver we are getting.

Travo Guider is a tour company that specializes in providing tailored travel experiences in the picturesque regions of Kashmir and Ladakh. Known for its deep local knowledge and personalized services, the company offers a range of packages from adventure tours to cultural explorations, ensuring an unforgettable experience for travelers. Our co-ordinator Vivek Jainwal was always reachable to us during remote locations such as tsomoriri and tsokar lake. He made the arrangement so beautifully henceforth I will always recommend him in my future travel plans Expert Local Guides: One of the standout features of TravoGuider is the expertise of its local guides. They are well-versed in the history, culture, and geography of Kashmir and Ladakh, providing valuable insights that enrich the travel experience. The guides are trained in first aid and are well-prepared to handle any emergencies, ensuring that travelers feel safe and supported throughout their journey. Friendly drivers provided: We have been provided very friendly drivers Ahmad, Bashir, and Thinglay who helped us to make our tour comfortable and memorable. Especially Thinglay who was with us for more than 6 days and was very friendly and very kind person. I still remember his words such as "OKHAY" and "No problem" He really shared his experience and he really has courage to drive the cars in mountain roads. His capability to drive is uncommendable. Also he was always accurate about the destination and time to each location. He made our journey very comfortable and have also taken some photos of us we all three are thankful to Vivek for providing such a nice man to drive us into local ladakh places. We were so thankful to Thinglay as he shared many cultural rituals happening in Ladakh region and we are able to compare it with our rituals. Especially I love to write this is "Thinglay didn't have taken any U-turn because of missing any turn throughout our journey of almost 1200 Kms" All the high altitude roads and passes he helped us to overcome the side-effects of Low Oxigen symptioms Because of Thinglay and Vivek we will definately plan our whole family trip to Zanskar and Spiti valley in comming days. TravoGuider is an excellent choice for those looking to explore Kashmir and Ladakh with the guidance of knowledgeable locals. The personalized service, attention to detail, and focus on safety make it a worthwhile investment for a memorable trip.

The tour was a success thanks to the travel agent, the hotels and drivers. However, the tour coordinator designated by Travel Triangle Mr. Belal was just not available. His phone was permanently out of zone or switched off, calls were not returned nor WhatsApp messages responded to. Travel Triangle needs to counsel their coordinators appropriately.

We had a great overall experience with TripTrail. In Kashmir and Ladakh due to cab driver union, the cab and driver changed. The first driver allocated to us was amazing. His name was Nubroo cab number ending with 9072. He was very helpful in explaining about places and he even assisted us in taking our pics. I give 5 star for Nubroo (cab number ending 9072). He was with us from leh to nubra valley then to pangong tso and then back to leh. The second cab driver Aga (cab number ending with 9070) was not good. He was an escapist. He kept asking if we can avoid visiting the places in itinerary and kept showing disinterested in driving and even lied to us openly saying this place is not good let us skip it. Such drivers give bad experience to tourists. He was there with us from leh to srinagar. The Srinagar driver Shakeel (cab number ending with 6470) was average. First day he tried his best to be professional. Next day onwards he showed minor disinterest and he even argued with Indian Army official in one incident. I feel such things is common among drivers in that region. He was with us for Kashmir local sight seeing. Hotels booked by TripTrail was very good. We loved the choice of hotels provided by them. 1. Sangaylay palace at leh - excellent rooms and food. 2. Organic boutique hunder - excellent view and organic food. 3. Royal foster pangong - here the owner of cottage was very helpful. 4. Chutuk heights Kargil - excellent view of Suru river. 5. Dawn house boat dal lake srinagar - excellent houseboat experience 6. Hotel blossom Srinagar - Good and safe environment. The travel agent was very helpful and always available on call. Overall I am happy that I chose triptrail.

The trip was well planned. All the bookings were made in advance by Kailash Expedition as per our choice. The driver was always on time and was very helpful throughout the trip. Only drawback is mobile network availability in Ladakh which made difficult to make any online payments after reaching there. Otherwise it was an amazing trip. Khardungla pass is a must visit. When we reached there we found snowfall which made our trip unforgettable.

While the overall experience was fine, I was not satisfied with the hotel stay in Pahalgam. I had specifically mentioned that I have 2 senior citizens travelling with me and hence they won't be able to take steps and so to ensure that rooms were all on the ground floor. However, this communication was not passed on to the hotel and we got a room in the 2nd floor without any lift service. While the staff was co-operative and ensured food was served in the room, I thought there was lack of communication between the travel agent and the hotel management.
