Pay a visit to the Plaza Mayor, with its mesmerizing fountains and magnificent avenues. Today, you check out of your hotel in Madrid after an enjoyable breakfast, for Granada. Travel across La Mancha towards the South, and make a stop at Puerto Lapice, which is a quaint little village that sings praises of Don Quixote.

On arrival at Granada, visit the magnificent Alhambra Palace, and the adjoining Generalife Gardens. Towards the evening you will be transferred to the Plaza de Garcia at the city center. Also visit the Rabida Monastery, which is a World Heritage Site, as part of your Europe tour itinerary.

After this you cross the border of Spain to travel to Portugal, where the first stop would be Mertola, an ancient Muslim city. Post lunch at Mertola, it is time to continue onwards to Evora, another World Heritage Site. Visit the Chapel of Bones, built out of nearly 5000 skeletons.
