    Day-by-Day Itinerary (9 Nights / 10 Days)

    Day 1: Delhi to Shimla

Your trip starts the moment you land. You are met at the Delhi airport or railway station and driven up to Shimla, about 350 km and roughly 7 to 8 hours by road as the plains give way to pine ridges. You reach the queen of hill stations by evening, check in and keep the night easy to settle in after the drive. If there is daylight left, a short first walk along the Mall Road is the classic way to start. Overnight in Shimla.

Day 2: Shimla and Kufri sightseeing

After breakfast you head out to Kufri, a small resort town about 16 km from Shimla, for pony rides, the Himalayan Nature Park and, in the colder months, snow slopes and tobogganing. The energetic can walk up to Mahasu Peak for the wide Himalayan panorama. Back in Shimla you round off the day on the Mall Road and the Ridge, browse Lakkar Bazar for its wood craft and stop at the Kali Bari temple. Overnight in Shimla.

    Day 3: Shimla to Manali

Today you cross from Shimla to the Beas valley. After breakfast you check out and drive toward Manali, about 250 km and roughly 7 to 8 hours through the Kullu valley along the river. Popular pauses on the way are the Hanogi Mata temple perched above the road and the calm Sundar Nagar lake, both good spots to stretch and take photographs. You reach Manali by evening and check in. Overnight in Manali.

Day 4: Manali sightseeing and Solang Valley

This is the big mountain day. After breakfast you visit Hidimba Devi Temple, the old cedar-wood shrine set in a deodar grove, then the nearby Manu Temple and the hot-spring baths at Vashisht village across the river. A Tibetan monastery in town is worth a quiet stop. In the afternoon you drive up to Solang Valley, about 14 km from Manali, where paragliding, the ropeway, zorbing and, in season, snow activities keep the day full. If the road is open and you want to go higher, you can add an optional excursion toward Rohtang Pass, driving past the mouth of the Atal Tunnel to reach the snow line. Rohtang needs a permit and is closed roughly November to May, so on winter dates the vehicle stops at Solang or Gulaba for the snow instead. Overnight in Manali.

    Day 5: Manali to Dharamshala

After breakfast you leave the Beas valley and drive to Dharamshala, about 230 km and roughly 7 to 8 hours, the road climbing back into the Kangra hills of tea gardens and pine. You reach Dharamshala by evening, check in and take the rest of the day at leisure in its green, quiet surroundings. Overnight in Dharamshala.

Day 6: Dharamshala, McLeodganj and on to Dalhousie

After breakfast you explore Dharamshala and McLeodganj, the hillside town that is home to the Dalai Lama. Most travellers visit the Tibetan monastery and the Bhagsu Nath temple with its waterfall, and spend a little time in the market cafes. By afternoon you drive on to Dalhousie, about 120 km and roughly 4 to 5 hours through the forested Chamba hills, and check in for the night. Overnight in Dalhousie.

    Day 7: Dalhousie and Khajjiar

A full day in and around Dalhousie. After breakfast you drive out to Khajjiar, the wide green saucer of meadow ringed by deodar forest that people call "mini Switzerland", then through the Kalatop wildlife sanctuary. Back in town you can walk to the Panchpula waterfall and stroll the colonial malls and churches of Dalhousie itself. Overnight in Dalhousie.

    Day 8: Dalhousie to Amritsar

Today you come down from the hills into Punjab. After breakfast you check out and drive to Amritsar, about 200 km and roughly 5 to 6 hours. In the evening you head to the Wagah Border for the daily flag-lowering ceremony, then to the Golden Temple, which is at its most striking after dark when it is lit and reflected in the sarovar. A langar meal at the temple is part of the experience. Overnight in Amritsar.

    Day 9: Amritsar to Delhi

After breakfast you make the long drive from Amritsar back to Delhi, about 450 km and close to 8 to 9 hours along the highway, with the option to travel this leg by train if you would rather save time. If you did not see the Golden Temple in morning light the day before, an early visit before you leave is worth the earlier start. You reach Delhi by evening and check in, keeping the night free to rest before the last day. Overnight in Delhi.

Day 10: Delhi sightseeing and departure

On your final morning, and depending on your flight or train time, you can fit in a short round of Delhi sightseeing, from India Gate and the Qutub Minar to a walk through the old city. After that you are transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey, with the full Himachal loop behind you. Trip ends.

    Where You Stay

The package uses comfortable, well-located hotels through the route, allotted on double or triple sharing. A typical set of stays looks like this, with similar properties provided depending on availability and your travel dates.

    • Daily breakfast and dinner• Meals other than those listed under inclusions
    • Private cab for all transport and sightseeing• Entry fees at monuments and tourist spots, and camera fees

    Price and What Is Included

The 10-day tour starts from Rs 45,500 per person on twin sharing, marked down from Rs 49,457. That is a fully serviced price for the whole 9 nights: hotels at each stop, breakfast and dinner every day, a private cab that stays with your family through the sightseeing rather than a shared bus, and every transfer from your Delhi pickup to your Delhi drop. Cut-price operators quoting less usually strip out meals, put you on shared transport, or leave hotels "on request", so read what a quote actually covers before you compare. Because the itinerary is customisable, the final figure moves with your hotel category, travel dates and group size. Share your details and our team sends a firm, itemised quote.

    Cancellation and Booking Policy

You book this trip with a partial advance and pay the balance closer to travel, and the itinerary can be adjusted up to a reasonable cut-off before departure. Cancellation charges rise as your start date approaches, which is standard for a multi-hotel mountain circuit where rooms and cabs are blocked in advance. Peak-season dates around April to June and the Christmas and New Year window can carry stricter terms. Your trip planner confirms the exact refund slab and payment schedule in writing before you pay, so you have the full policy on record for your dates.

Why Book This Trip With TravelTriangle

      Himachal Travel FAQs

What does the 10-day Himachal itinerary cover?

The 9 nights and 10 days loop runs Delhi to Shimla and Kufri, across to Manali and Solang Valley, then Dharamshala and McLeodganj, Dalhousie and Khajjiar, and finally Amritsar for the Golden Temple and Wagah Border before returning to Delhi. You get two nights each in Shimla, Manali and Dalhousie, so the pace stays comfortable rather than a different bed every night.

How much does the 9 Nights 10 Days Himachal tour cost and what is included?

The tour starts from Rs 45,500 per person on twin sharing. That covers hotels at every stop, daily breakfast and dinner, a private cab for all transfers and sightseeing, airport or station pickup and drop, and all taxes. Flights, train and Volvo tickets, monument entry fees and optional activities are extra. The final price depends on your hotel category, dates and group size, and we send an itemised quote before you book.

Can I customise this itinerary or change the hotels?

Yes. This is a starting template, not a fixed departure. You can add or drop nights, swap Dalhousie for extra time in Manali, upgrade to 4-star or 5-star hotels, request specific properties, or change your start city. Tell your trip planner what you want and we re-quote before anything is confirmed.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

You book with a partial advance and pay the balance nearer the travel date, and cancellation charges increase as your departure approaches because hotels and cabs are held in advance. Peak dates around April to June and the year-end holidays can carry stricter terms. Your trip planner confirms the exact refund slab and payment schedule in writing before you pay.

Is this 10-day trip suitable for families and senior citizens?

Yes. The circuit is designed for families and mixed-age groups: comfortable hotels, a private cab so you set the pace, and no compulsory high-altitude activity. The one long day is a full-day drive between stops, which is normal for a Himachal circuit. Steeper add-ons like Rohtang Pass or Solang paragliding are optional, so seniors and young children can skip them and relax at the viewpoints instead.

What is the best time to do a 10-day Himachal trip?

March to June is the main season, with clear mountain weather and comfortable days across Shimla, Manali and Dalhousie, and it is the best window for the Rohtang and Solang snow. October and November bring crisp post-monsoon views and thinner crowds. For deep snow, come December to February, when the slopes are white but some higher roads close, so the snow day shifts to Solang or Gulaba.

It was 10 days family trip with Travel Talkies, and it was one of the best travel experiences I've had. Travel Talkies covered Shimla, Kufri, Manali, Kullu, Kasol, Manikaran, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Wagah Border, and Amritsar and it was absolutely amazing! From scenic view from Shimla and snow-capped mountains in Manali to the peaceful vibes of Manikaran and Dharamshala, the scenic beauty of Khajjiar, and the patriotic energy at Wagah Border, every stop had something unique to offer. The entire trip was smooth and well-organized comfortable cab, good hotels with mountain view (except small issues which handled well by Manisha), and a very friendly and skilled driver (Gian and Ravi Thakur made our journey smooth and intresting. Overall a decent experience. There were a few glitches during the tour, which could have been avoided, however, overall quite okay. I must however mention that once all payments are done, its difficult to contact representatives of Travel Triangles, we had some issues & reps from TT were not reacha
ble. This was a bit disappointing. Coming to travel agency - Adventure Mania - There were some coordinating issues between them & the driver. Adventure Mania staff were quite supportive throughout the tour. Having said, while planning the tour, a better research of the customer is vital. We too make a mistake of selecting one Hotel in Jibhi (Hotel Majestic) which was one of the worst hotels / homestays we ever travelled to. The Agency was very kind to cancel one night in Jibhi & arrange one add night in Manali. Shivam, Simpy & the Owner Mr. Sonu were all helpful & tried their best to make is comfortable. Everything cant be perfect, so overall we are quite okay with the travel arrangements & do return with good memories. I would use Travel Triangles in the future as well, but would learn from my mistakes during this tour. Request Travel Triangles to have more responsive representatives who can reach out to customers when required.
