Welcome to the city of Phuentsholing

When you arrive at IXB airport or NJP railway station, you will be transferred to Phuentsholing. From India, the Gateway of Bhutan by Road. When you arrive there, check into the hotel and have rest. The remaining day is at leisure. Stay for a peaceful sleep.

Let’s travel to the new city – Thimphu

After your delicious breakfast at the hotel, complete the immigration formalities and finish your check out formalities before you leave for Thimphu. The drive will be of 6 hours as the distance is 176 km. When you reach Thimphu, check-in at your pre-booked hotel and relax. In the evening, you can visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Come back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Enjoy the city of Thimphu

After your breakfast, visit Buddha Statue – Kuensel Phodrang. This is a refreshing place with a huge Buddha statue on top of the Kuensel Phodrang. This is also a Folk Heritage Museum and National Memorial Chorten. In the afternoon, visit Sangaygang View Point, Taking Preserve Centre, and Changangkha Monastery. Explore Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).

After your full day sightseeing, it is time for you to stay at Thimphu for a sound sleep.

Enjoy your day by visiting different places

Drive to Punakha/Wangue after you have had your breakfast at the hotel and done with the check out formalities. It will take 3 hours as the distance is 77 km. On your way to Punakha/Wangdue, stop at Dochu-La-Pass to have a view of the higher Himalayas. Upon arrival in Punakha, head to the hotel and check-in.

In the afternoon, after some rest, visit Punakha Dzong which was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in the year 1637. After visiting these places, enjoy a short excursion to Chhimi Lhakhang – The Temple which is also called “The Temple of Fertility.” It was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley – “The Divine Mad Man.” The evening is for leisure. After your full day enjoyment, stay for overnight at Punakha/Wangdue.

Enjoy your excursion on day 5 of the trip

In the morning, eat your breakfast and begin your full day excursion trip to Gangtey. The distance is 78 km which takes 3 hours drive. Gangtey is the home to Black Necked Cranes. These cranes migrate in the north from the Tibet arid plains. Gangtey is a beautiful valley in Bhutan and doesn’t forget to visit Gangtey Gompa as well. After your excursion for a full-day, return back in the evening. For the night, stay at Punakha/Wangdue and have a peaceful sleep.

Enjoy your day sightseeing

After your breakfast in the hotel, drive to Paro, 140 km away and will take 5 hours of drive. On your way to Paro, make a stop in Lamperi to enjoy the Royal Botanical Park. This park has varied biodiversity of fauna and flora. This park also features wide species of animals and plants which includes endangered species. During the afternoon, visit Paro Airport view, Ring Pong Dzong, and local market by walking. Enjoy your evening and have fun. For a nice sleep, stay at a hotel in Paro.

Enjoy Chele-La-Pass to your fullest

After you have a tasty breakfast in the hotel, get ready for an excursion trip to Chele-La-Pass which is 35 km from your hotel. This will take a drive of 2 hours. Chele-La-Pass is the highest road for being motorable in Bhutan at the height of 13088 feet. From there, you can enjoy looking at the scenic beauty and the memorable landscapes. After your day was enjoyed at Chele-La-Pass, it’s time to get back to Paro. The remaining day is as per you. You can roam around in local market or rest. Enjoy a good sleep at the hotel.

After you have had your breakfast, get ready for the hike to Takshang Monastery. This is the most famous monastery of Bhutan, situated on the height of 3180 meters. The great spiritual master Guru Rinpoche has been said to fly on the tigress’s back for meditating in a cave where this monastery is now. Perching on the edge of the steep cliff, this monastery is around 900 meters above Paro Valley.

In the afternoon, get Phuentsholing and spend your night at the hotel.

After you have had your breakfast, complete all the check out formalities from the hotel and leave for Phuentsholing NJP railway station or IXB airport for your journey ahead. It will roughly take 5 hours as the distance is 170 km. Keep the everlasting memory of the Himalayas and serene kingdom in your mind while going back home.
