Safe arrival at Delhi followed by drive and sightseeing in Shimla

Once you arrive in Delhi, you are taken to Shimla. You check in to the hotel and then proceed for local sightseeing. Situated on Jakhoo hill, is the ancient temple of Lord Hanuman. A visit to this sacred place feels divine. Shimla is about 1.3 miles east of Ridge and at a height of 2,455m. You are also taken to the large open space in the heart of Shimla – The Ridge. When in Shimla, you also get to see the Rashtrapati Niwas (Viceregal Lodge), which is situated on the Observatory Hills. It was formerly the residence of the British Viceroy of India.

The second oldest church in North India – Christ Church is what you are taken to the next. You also get to visit Mall road. It is located a level below the ridge and is said to be constructed during the British colonial rule. The major attractions around this area are Gaiety theater, Kali Bari temple, Scandal point, and Town Hall. You then get back to the hotel, have dinner and halt for the night.

Go for an excursion to Kufri

After breakfast, you get to visit Kufri. This is the highest point of Himalayan in this region. The wildlife zoo here allows you to witness rare antelopes, birds, and felines. You can also see the Himalayan monal – the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. During the winter season, the path through the potato plantation turns into a beautiful ski track. After a visit to this, you return back to the hotel and have an overnight stay here.

Experience the religious sites of Manali

After breakfast, you are taken for the local sightseeing tour of Manali. You are first taken to the Hadimba Devi temple. This dates back to 1553 and is built around a natural cave. It enshrines the footprints of the Goddess Hadimba. This is one of the most frequent attractions in Manali. This place is populated with many deodar trees. The park houses concrete as well as wooden benches for all the visitors. This place is perfect for small picnics. You can visit the ClubHouse to make use of the roller skating rink, billiards room, and a library. There are restaurant and bar here as well. In Manali, the Tibetan monasteries are very famous. After breakfast, you check out and proceed to Dharamshala. This is surface travel to McLeodganj or as otherwise known - Dharamshala.
