Overview

The pristine land where nature has showered blessings portrayed in its local ‘flora’ and ‘fauna’ is in South India. One can visualize the lush green tea plantation land after land and feel the gentle flowing of the breeze caressing your face as you drive through the stretch from Cochin to Munnar. The three cities of Cochin, Munnar, and Alleppey are the pivot of our South India tour packages from Vijayawada. A perfect blend of modern city life, the tranquility of mountains and serenity of backwaters.

Cochin is a modern city on the Malabar Coast along the Arabian Sea. It is a major spice trading city and this trade is existing through centuries and exists till date. It is a gateway to sea trade with the Gulf countries. The densely populated city has got cultural and economic relations with Arab countries. Once Portuguese inhabited this city and their sculptures can be seen throughout the city in remains, at present. After the Portuguese, the Dutch and then the British ruled this region till the independence. Cochin is also known as the financial capital of Kerala. Hub to large industries like chemical and fertilizer, the export of seafood, spices and service sectors related to IT and ITES are a major contributor to the economic growth of the city. Cochin is a major logistic hub of Indian Naval Force.

Munnar is the iconic landmark on God’s own country, situated in Idukki district at an altitude of around 5800 ft above sea level. Here the divine has showered total bliss and tranquility. Divinity is felt in every aspect of nature. Here a tourist is welcomed to lush green terrain up to the hills into the valleys, mist in the air, waterfalls, varieties of flowers, rare butterflies, hectares and hectares of tea garden all counts to make it an ideal hill destination for tourists. The temperature ranges between 2c -25c, the minimum and maximum during winters and summers respectively, and hence it is a place worth visit at any time of the year. This place is a confluence of three rivers Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. Herein forests are a rich source of spices like cardamom, pepper, clove, etc. which contribute to boosting the local economy.

Alleppey is famous for its backwaters. The city is considered as one of the cleanest in the country. This city is also called “Venice of the East” as it is surrounded by beaches backwaters lagoons throughout its length and breadth. The tourist is bound to have a jaw-dropping experience when he spends a night on the stationed houseboats. The moonlight glistening on the calm waters and its shadow create a magical atmosphere which the tourist cherishes and remembers throughout his life. The tourist is further treated with a boat cruise through these backwaters and one can see the villages, vast paddy fields along the bank. A first-hand glimpse of the daily life of local inmates can be visualized and felt. Our South India tour packages from Vijayawada has all these exotic features as a tourist attraction.

      FAQs

The houseboats are totally safe. The crew members are very helpful and the boats are equipped with lifejackets, fire extinguishers, etc to ensure total safety.

There are several resorts in Munnar offering accommodation in tree houses. The range varies from 4.5k-6k per night.

Munnar is a great location for gourmet tea. The Kanan Devan hill plantations provide a huge variety of flavored tea at reasonable rates.

The Eravikulam National Park closes around January for two months due to the calving season of the Nilgiri Tahr. The park is open to the public for the rest of the year.

October to February, i.e., winter season is the best time to visit Munnar because the weather remains extremely pleasant during this season. Hence, sightseeing, and outdoor activities become even more enjoyable.

Munnar hotel facilities were very good, Kovalam hotel facilities were good but the last one Mare Blu Cherai was worst as I informed earlier also, first time I saw wash basin alongside bed, dirty towels & linen. Munnar site seeing places were great & House boat experience was also very good.

      • Trip to Kerala

Hotels were really good. Services of hotels were also upto the mark. Vehicle could have been better. Driver was courteous but he also took us places which were not mentioned in itinerary and chargeable and skipped many places in munnar saying closed or can't be done by this vehicle, even thought those places were mentioned in itinerary. If these things are mentioned in itinerary, tourists can prepare for them well in advance. I was told by driver that real munnar can be seen only by off roading vehicle and we were stuck with jeep safari chosen by driver. We didn't know what we would miss if we opted out. I immediately tried to call agent and they tried to help but they were also not very clear what was going on the ground. Their option was that it's optional instead of clearly telling me what would I miss if I don't opt for jeep safari. Overall a great trip with good service by agent and an okay vehicle. Thanks.

Overall the trip was Awesome . But the trip plan was mismanaged 1 day in our travel i ternary was to visit Fort Kochi and we reached airport @3:00 then we left for Fort Kochi which we reached at about 4:30 and it was closed and thus our first day nothing was covered. 2 day & 3rd day to munnar was Awesome . Also i would like to add that there are places near to Munnar like Ripple Waterfalls,Chennai express Shooting point etc which are not mentioned in i ternary we covered them by hiring the jeep . 4 day we started by 10am and we reached Thekady by 2:30 and then in hurry we were able to do the Periyar lake Boating. 5 th day we started at 10am we reached Allepey by 12:30 we reached the boat house(Butterfly cruise) the view was very nice the Quality of Boat that was promised by the agent was not upto the mark it has very bad beddings and also the boat driver was always busy in his phone not explained us anything about the point he covered. 6 th day we started for Kovallam we were a little late as the driver was not on time we reached at our resort Pappu-Kutty beach resort which was 3* and on the kovallam beach. The resort was nice but the facilities provide were not upto the mark the restaurant was not good and the breakfast there was ok. 7th day to Padmanabham temple & zoo. 8th day to kanyakumari in between we were Poovar back water and Golden sand beach that was were nice and not mentioned in the itenary also we have to hire a boat for Rs. 2000 for 2 person to visit the place. Overall our trip was awesome the only it was some mismanaged Also it is suggested that if you are staying in kovallam then always take return from Trivandrum as our return was from Kochi we have to travel back from Kovallam to kochi which has taken around 8 hours i.e morning 10 we reched airport by 6 which was a total waste of time & the things mentioned in the Kochi iternary were never covered due to lack of Time.

Overall the trip was good but there is lots of scope for improved services. The hotel Provided in Munnar was not clean and was way of the main Street which took almost half hour to reach to the main Street. The cab driver was friendly but he had this weird issue that we shouldn't open the cab window as the dirt will come in the Cab. I mean what kind of constraint is that. Simply unexpectable as some people are not comfortable sitting in AC for long time. Rest of the trip was smooth.

House boat arrangements were fine. Attendants were cordial, caring and professional. A wonderful experience. Hotel at Thekkaddy was very good. Hotel Diamond hill at Munnar needs improvements for its cleanliness. However, food quality was good. House boat experience at Alleppy was awesome as scenic beauty mesmerized us. The attendants have good hospitality quality.

        - The itinerary sent to customer and driver by travel agent is different thereby creating arguments. - When some of the places gets cancelled mentioned in itinerary due to natural calamities, alternate places should be arranged - travel agent should call customers enquiring about how the trip is proceeding on regular basis during the travel period (you just can't show the enthusiasm till the payment is done and neglect later) - travel agent sends different pics of private house boat and provide something else(truly unprofessional and disgusting behavior) - Nevertheless driver mr.mathew has done pretty good job, it is travel agent Mr .Robin who disappointed us. Kerala you beutyyyyy!!!!! Simply they won't call it 'gods own country', truly it is.!!! Munnar you serene beauty I am going to visit you again........
