A day excursion to the Mewar fortress

After the meal, we drive to the royal Mewar, known for its Mewari Shaan and the traditions. Kumbhalgarh Fort is a Newar fortress right on the western range of Aravalli Hills. It counts in the World Heritage Site among the Rajasthani forts. It is the birthplace of Maharana Pratap and known for great warriors. In the course of the 15th century, Rana Kumbha built the fort in Mewar. The spectacular fort is open to the public and charmingly lit in the evening for the evening. After the whole day excursion, drive back to the hotel and stay overnight in Udaipur.

Excited enough? Today we are driving to Chittorgarh Palace for the full day excursion after breakfast. The palace has a humongous history to it. Queen Padmini is considered to be one of the most beautiful queens in India who created a huge fight in Chittorgarh. She also made a huge sacrifice among with thousands of women of Mewar and held the great Jauhar. Chittorgarh Palace is famous for the Vijay Stambh, built after the victory by Rana Kumbha, the Kirti Stambh, Rana Kumbha’s Palace and the Rani Padmini’s Palace. Also, the Kalika Mata temple is another set back to the palace. After the visit drive back to Udaipur.

Time to leave the royal city

The royal city of Udaipur, the lakes and ancient history has to be left behind as the trip ends today. Shop in the local market and pick up some amazing Rajasthani sculptures, miniatures, dolls, dresses or clothes to carry along with you to home. Pack your belongings and check-out in the hotel.
