About Tirupati

Tirupati is one of the most sought after and widely acclaimed pilgrimage for Hindus across the world. This sacrilegious city is located in the Chittoor district. It is located at the footfills of Eastern Ghats and is situated 550km south of Hyderabad, the capital of the State. Tirupati has gained worldwide recognition for the rich Venkateshwara Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara. The temple is situated at an elevation of853m and is located 20km north west of Tirupati in the Tirumala hills. Tirupati is one of the most protected shrines in the world. One can get awestruck by the scintillating architectural craftsmanship and inspired by the spiritual divinity prevailing in every nook and corner of Tirupati. The presiding deity is Lord Vishnu who is lovingly called Balaji down South. The seva time starts at 3 in the morning and closes at 12 in the night. Tirupati is connected to major metros of the country through train services especially Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Tirpuati is connected by air to New Delhi and Hyderabad. Closest international airport is located in Chennai which is 130 km from Tirupati.
-SILATHORANAM: a must see spectacle from archaelogical point of view. A natural rock formation resembling the shape of a serpent, conch and discus. So it could be easily inferred that the sourcis dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara idol.

-SWAMI PUSHKARINI LAKE: Lying within the holy premises of Lord Venkateshwara Swami Pushkarini Lake is considered to be the holy pleasure lake of the Almighty inVaikunth where he takes bath with his consorts. A populsr belief goes that Garuda brought this teertha and the water in the tank is extremely pure and holy. Daily rituals and prayers on the lake absolves all sins and any kind of body abnormality. The bath in the tank also leads to temporal prosperity

-TTD GARDENS: A sprawling expansion of 460 acres of ornamental flowers and landscape gardens. This garden supplies 500 kg of flowers daily to various temples.
-AKASAGANGA THEERTHAM: The most popular waterfall as the holy rituals take place with its water. It is believed to be originating from the feet of the deity. It has found mention in the Vedas as well and the fall is especially heavy during rainy season

-ASTHANA MANDAPAM: is the place where cultural programs are conducted under the auspices of Dharma Prachara Parishad. This auditorium is also known as Sadas Hall.  It situates adjacent to the main temple complex. It provides an elite podium where bhajans, keertans, harikathas, dance concerts and spiritual discourses take place.

-PAPAVINASAM TEERTHAM: is one of the most significant waterfalls and are situated just few miles away from Tirumala. Papavinasam is the place where devotees take a holy dip for washing away their past sins. Since the waterfall gushes from the top it looks picturesque and exhilarating.

-SRI ANNAPURNA SAMETA KASI VISWESWARASWAMY: a marvellous temple located on the banks of river Kusasthali dedicated to numerous goddesses along with Lord Vishnu.


-SRI BEDI ANJANEYASWAMI: A temple situated on the banks of Pushkarini, this temple reminisces of childhood days of Lord Hanuman.

-SRI CHENNAKESAVASWAMI TEMPLE: A temple that boast of a rich tradition and ethnicity, Sri Chennakesavaswami temple dates back to 1000 years ago.  This temple lays in a place, which is very revered as the birthplace of Sri Annamacharya 

-SRI GOVINDARAJASWAMI TEMPLE: One of the biggest shrines which boast of the Vaishnavite style of architecture.

-SRI KALYAN VENKATAVESHWARA SWAMI: the place where Lord Venkateshwara spent some time with his wife Padmavathi after his holy matrimony.

-SRI KAPILESWARASWAMI TEMPLE: is the singlemost Shiva temple located at the foothills of Tirumala which is 3 km north of Tirupathi.

-SRI PADMAVATHI AMMAVARI TEMPLE: is a legendary temple which holds the evnets like Padmavathi's birth and her marriage to  Lord Venkateshwara.

-SRI VEDANARAYANASWAMI TEMPLE: Situated in Nagalapuram, 70km south east of Tirupathi, this temple holds the matsya incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

-SRI VENKATESHWARA DHYAN VIGNAN MANDIRAM: It is a famous museum as well as spiritual centre for devotees of the Lord. -SRI VENUGOPALASWAMI TEMPLE: lies 48 km away from Tirupathi. The chief deity is Venugopalaswamy. This temple exemplifies exquisite carvings.
