Kashmir Tour Package (3D/2N): Overview
From Rs 10,079 per person on twin sharing for the full 2 nights, 3 days plan. Every trip is customisable, you get on-ground support in Srinagar, and you can change any day of the itinerary before you pay. This is a short, low-commitment way to see the valley from Ahmedabad without burning a week of leave.
Jammu and Kashmir sits high in the Himalayas, and this 2 nights, 3 days plan is built for Ahmedabad travellers who want the valley in a long weekend rather than a full holiday. You fly in to Srinagar, spend your days on the Dal Lake, in the Mughal gardens and up in Gulmarg, and fly home without a long itinerary to manage. The weather is pleasant for most of the year, and the sweet spot runs March to October.
The plan covers two anchors, Srinagar and Gulmarg, and it deliberately keeps the pace easy. Srinagar gives you the lake, the shikara ride and the gardens laid out by the Mughals. Gulmarg gives you the high meadow, the Gondola cable car and, in winter, the snow. If you have more time, longer Kashmir packages from Ahmedabad add Pahalgam and Sonmarg, and you can browse the full range on our Kashmir tour packages page.
Price: from Rs 10,079 per person, twin sharing (land package, starts and ends at Srinagar).
Duration: 3 days, 2 nights.
Route: Srinagar city sightseeing, a full-day Gulmarg excursion, and one night on a Dal Lake houseboat.
Included: 3-star hotel plus a houseboat night, airport transfers, daily breakfast and dinner, sightseeing, and taxes.
Best months: March to October. Tulips peak in April, and May to August stays cool and green.
Getting there: IndiGo and SpiceJet fly nonstop from Ahmedabad to Srinagar (SXR) in about 2 hours 10 minutes, with Delhi connections as a backup. Full details below.
Getting to Kashmir from Ahmedabad
This is the question most Ahmedabad buyers actually ask, and the honest answer is that you should fly. IndiGo and SpiceJet run nonstop flights from Ahmedabad to Srinagar several times a week, and the hop takes about 2 hours 10 minutes. Those seats go first in April to June and on long weekends, so book them early; if they are gone, a one-stop connection through Delhi or Mumbai is the fallback. Winter snow can delay Srinagar flights, so keep a buffer before any onward connection. Srinagar Airport (SXR) is about 15 km from the Dal Lake, and your package transfer meets you there.
| Route option | How it works | Rough time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fly nonstop (fastest) | IndiGo or SpiceJet, Ahmedabad straight to Srinagar | About 2h 05m to 2h 15m in the air | Several departures a week; book early for April to June and long weekends |
| Fly via Delhi or Mumbai | Ahmedabad to Delhi or Mumbai, connect to Srinagar | 5 to 7 hours with the layover | Backup when nonstops are sold out; widest choice of fares |
| Rail all the way | Train to Jammu Tawi, then the Vande Bharat Express to Srinagar (about 4h 45m) | Well over a day in total | For travellers who prefer not to fly; the Jammu to Srinagar Vande Bharat started in May 2026 |
Because airfare is not part of the land package, you can book this trip land-only and add your own flights, or ask your coordinator to bundle the flights. The Kashmir travel guide has more on routes and timing if you want the full picture.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Srinagar, gardens and the Dal Lake
Included today: arrival transfer, sightseeing, overnight stay.
Land at Srinagar Airport and your cab meets you for the short drive to the hotel. After you check in and catch your breath, head out for a half-day of Srinagar sightseeing. You will see the Mughal gardens the emperors laid out along the lake, Nishat Bagh with its terraces looking over the water, and Shalimar Bagh, the garden Jahangir built for his empress Nur Jahan. In tulip season (roughly late March into April) the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is the highlight, with rows of colour against the mountains. Close the day with a shikara ride on the Dal Lake as the light turns gold, then back to the hotel for the night.
Day 2: Day trip to Gulmarg
Included today: breakfast, sightseeing, overnight stay on a Dal Lake houseboat.
After breakfast, drive out to Gulmarg, the high meadow that turns into one of the country's best-known ski slopes in winter. It also has the highest golf course in the world, an 18-hole green in summer. The big draw is the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars anywhere, which climbs from Gulmarg up to Kongdoori and on toward Apharwat Peak (around 13,780 ft) for snow and wide valley views, with the meadows of Khilanmarg spread out below. As evening comes on you drive back to Srinagar, where tonight you stay on a traditional Dal Lake houseboat, the carved-cedar kind Kashmir is known for.
Srinagar to Gulmarg: about 51 km, roughly 2 hours each way by road.
Day 3: Departure
Included today: breakfast, departure transfer.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and check out. Your trip coordinator arranges the transfer back to Srinagar Airport (or the railway station) in good time for your flight or train home. If you would rather not rush the last morning, ask about adding a night, it is an easy change to make.
Want to add Pahalgam and Sonmarg?
A 2 nights plan covers Srinagar and Gulmarg comfortably, but it cannot honestly fit Pahalgam or Sonmarg, which each sit roughly 90 to 100 km from Srinagar and deserve a day of their own. If they are on your list, add a night or two. Pahalgam brings the Lidder river, the Betaab and Aru valleys and gentle rafting, while Sonmarg opens up the Thajiwas glacier and the Zoji La road toward Ladakh. You can see how these fit on our Kashmir packages from Ahmedabad page, or pick a longer plan from all Kashmir tour packages. Couples often prefer the Kashmir honeymoon packages, and families can compare the Kashmir family packages.
Kashmir trip cost from Ahmedabad
The land package starts at Rs 10,079 per person on twin sharing and covers your stays, transfers, breakfast, dinner and sightseeing. What changes the final number is your flights and how much you upgrade. The bands below are per person and indicative. Airfares swing with the season and how early you book, so treat the flight-inclusive figures as a planning guide rather than a quote.
| Style | What it covers | Land package (pp) | With return flights ex-Ahmedabad (pp) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget 2N/3D | 3-star stay plus a houseboat night, transfers, this itinerary | Rs 10,079 to Rs 11,076 | approx Rs 22,000 to Rs 30,000 |
| Mid-range 4N | 4-star or deluxe houseboat, private cab, adds a Pahalgam night | from about Rs 18,000 | approx Rs 32,000 to Rs 42,000 |
| Premium 5N-6N | Premium houseboat plus 4/5-star, private guide, Srinagar-Gulmarg-Pahalgam-Sonmarg | from about Rs 30,000 | approx Rs 48,000 and up |
Prefer to keep it lean? Book land-only at Rs 10,079 and add your own flights. Want it handled end to end? Your coordinator can bundle the nonstop or connecting fare and share one clean per-person figure.
Best time to visit, and food for Gujarati travellers
For a short trip, March to October is the safe window. April brings the tulips and blossom, May to August stays cool and green while the plains bake, September and October turn the chinars gold, and December to February is deep snow if Gulmarg skiing is the point of the trip. Pack a light jacket even in summer, evenings by the lake get cool.
Pure-veg and Jain food. This matters to a lot of Ahmedabad travellers and it is easy to arrange. Srinagar has dedicated pure-vegetarian kitchens, and our on-ground team can fix your stays and meals so they are strictly vegetarian, Jain (no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables) or Swaminarayan-friendly on request. Tell your coordinator when you book. If you do want to try local dishes, the vegetarian side of Kashmiri cooking is genuinely good, think dum aloo, nadru (lotus stem), rajma from the hills, haakh greens and the pink noon chai.
