Overview
Looking for a tour package for a trip in Coorg, book our Coorg Tour package from Trivandrum to Coorg and discover peace in its most natural form. Coorg, a rural district in the state of Karnataka, is one of the tourist attractions in the country. Abbey Falls, also called Abbi Falls in the town of Madikeri, gives us a stunning view of the water cascade falling from a height of 70 feet. It is surrounded coffee plantations, a number of spice estates and numerous trees. There is also a hanging bridge opposite to and quite close to the falls where you can actually feel the sprays of water from the falls. The Raja’s Seat is yet another picturesque location. The hills are surrounded by terraced green valleys, paddy fields, coffee plantations etc. The kings of Coorg along with their loved ones sat on their throne witnessing the magnificent sunset.
Talakaveri, place believed to be the origin of the river Kaveri, is the peak of a hill. Faithful flock here for a dip in the pond. There is also a temple dedicated to Goddess Kaveramma. From the top of the cliff, one can view the surrounding hills, on a very cold day you’d be walking through fog. If you’re lucky you’d be able to touch the clouds. Dubare Reserve known for the conservation of the elephants, bird watching and wildlife research surrounded by thick green forests have so many wonderful sights for us to behold.
The majestic elephants walking around us, people feeding them and bathing them is fun to watch. One could assist the mahouts in bathing and oiling the elephants. Elephants here are trained to participate in the annual Dussehra Festivities. The forest reserve is a home for several endangered species such as snakes, peacocks, deer etc. Bylakuppe, a place in Coorg is a Tibetan refugee settlement, home of the Splendid Namdroling monastery. This is an educational centre, which attracts a huge number of young Tibetans who seek wisdom and knowledge. Buddhist monks are constantly performing their religious rituals and they also offer prayers quite loudly. You can see that they aren’t bothered by the presence of the people around. They indulge in what they do and not get distracted. This place offers us a blissful sight of the architecture and is surrounded by luscious greenery around.
