Birkat Al Mauz

Touching down on Omani ground
Once the flight lands at the Muscat International Airport, visitors will get their first feel of the Omani weather. Summer in Oman is rather hot and humid, do make sure to dress appropriately and carry plenty of water and sunscreen. After finishing with the baggage collection, visitors will proceed to the arrival hall where they will meet their English-speaking chauffeur who will greet them. The chauffeur will then take the visitors to the hotel where they can rest for the night.

The second day of summer vacation in Oman begins with a trip around Muscat and the mystical aura it thrums with. We will start with Bait Al Zubair Museum, which has the largest and finest privately owned collected of ancient Omani artefacts, and then proceed to the Grand Mosque and & Bait Al Zubair Museum. However, the mosque and the museum are closed for prayers on Friday. Next is a drive along Mutrah Corniche, a curved waterfront area that allows visitors to enjoy the lake and mountains as well as the artistic shelters and paths. You can also peek at the Souq and Fish Market. The next stop is a photoshoot-esque stop at the Al Alam Palace, the Sultan’s ceremonial palace, which is known for its beauty and grandeur. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

The ancient history of Oman awaits you
On day three, visitors will depart Muscat at 8:00 A.M., and drive to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman. We will visit the village of Birkat Al Mauz and experience the unique Falaj system of irrigation that was used in the ancient village as well as the date plantations. Nizwa Town’s main attraction is the Round Tower Fort which was unveiled to the public in the 17th century.
Before heading to Jebel Shams, we will take you to Wadi Nakhr. It is the highest mountain in the Hajar range. On the way there will be a village of Wadi Ghul which is famous from selling handicrafts made of goat hair. Jebel Shams offers a spectacular view from 1000 meters above sea level. Overnight stay at camp.

End of a memorable holiday to Oman
At 8:00 in the morning, you will enjoy a breakfast at the campsite with the cool mountain air and scenery. After breakfast, we will drive to the Bahla fort, which is a World Heritage Site. The Bahla village which is nearby allows visitors to watch potters make their artistic clay handicrafts. We will then proceed to the Jabrin Palace where you can marvel at the ancient architecture and the ingenuity of the hand-painted ceilings and carved door frames. From there, we will travel back to Muscat. En route to the capital city, we will visit the ruins of the Tanuf village. We will return to Muscat at 4:30 P.M. and visitors will be dropped off at the airport to board the flight back home.
