The first day of your trip to North East India

Once you arrive at the Guwahati airport or railway station, you will meet the representative who would take you to Shillong. On the way, you get to visit Umiam Lake, which is located at Barapani. You check in to the scheduled hotel once you reach Shillong, which is rightly called Scotland of the East. After refreshments at the hotel, you are taken to the Ward’s Lake and Cathedral of Mary’s Help for the Christians. Then, you return to the hotel and halt overnight here.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Cherapunji. On the way, you can visit Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls. However, please note that entry to Shillong Peak is subjected to the permission from the authorities of the Indian Air Force. You will be able to witness a breathtaking view when you stop at the Mawddach valley. Once you have covered these places, the drive is resumed and you are taken to Cherapunji where you get to see the Seven Sisters’ Falls, Nohkalikai Falls and Dainthlen Falls. After lunch, you will visit the Awrah Cave and Mawsmai Cave. At last, you check in to the scheduled hotel here and halt for the night.

Witness the beauty of the suspension bridge above the Umngot river which was built during the British rule

After breakfast, you are taken to Dawki. This is the border town between India and Bangladesh. Here you get to see the suspension bridge above Umngot river. This bridge was constructed during the British rule. You can enjoy a country boat ride in this river. However, note that any water activities are subjected to the river and weather conditions during the time of your visit. The unique feature of this river is that you can see the ground below. This is because of the crystal clear feature of the river water. You are next taken to Mawlynnong. This is the cleanest village in Asia. Take a short walk around to see how clean the village has been maintained for years. After lunch, you are taken to Riwai village. Here you can walk around the Single Decker living root bridge. You then return to Shillong and stay overnight here.

Visit the splendid tourist places in Mawsynram

After an early breakfast, you are taken to Mawsynram. Here you visit all the tourist places such as Mawsynram cave, naturally formed Shiva Linga, Mawphlang Dam, Mawphlang sacred forest and Jakrem hot water spring. You will have lunch on your way back (own expense) and then have an overnight halt at Shillong.

Visit Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati before you end the tour

After breakfast, you check-out from the hotel. You are taken to the Guwahati airport or railway station for your onward journey. En route, you can visit the famous Kamakhya Devi Temple. The tour ends here.
